CA Assemblymember District 24. Chair CA Legislative Progressive Caucus. Corporate-Free, NUMTOT from the South Bay 🏳️🌈🌹
As promised, I’m hitting the ground running on DAY ONE! Today I was official took office as District 25’s State Assemblymember and immediately introduced my first bill to root out corporate special interest money in our democracy. Here's what it'll do:

I’ve been investigating Paramount’s deal with Trump. Here’s what we know: - Trump sued CBS - CBS called the lawsuit “meritless” - Paramount (owner of CBS) still settled, handing $16 MILLION+ to Trump’s library - Paramount has a billion-dollar deal that needs Trump’s approval
CBS canceled Colbert’s show just THREE DAYS after Colbert called out CBS parent company Paramount for its $16M settlement with Trump – a deal that looks like bribery. America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons. Watch and share his message.

🚨🚨 TRUMP CONFIRMS HE’S IN THE EPSTEIN FILES
These Coldplay concerts are getting out of hand.
Of all the stands I have taken, I am proudest that I have never taken a dime of PAC or lobbyist money. I started the No Pac Caucus, and I have a bill to ban Super Pacs. Get money out of our politics!
Based on verified data from OpenSecrets, TrackAIPAC, and FEC filings, AIPAC PAC contributions to the listed representatives are as follows (career totals, adjusted for direct AIPAC-linked funds): - Ro Khanna: $0 (refuses PAC money) - Marjorie Taylor Greene: $0 - Tim Burchett:…
Especially true in CA: where we have the most billionaires in the country yet the most people who sleep on the streets. Wealth exists. It’s just concentrated at the top
We don’t suffer from scarcity, we suffer from greed. The money is there. It’s just being hoarded by the wealthy while everyday people are struggling to afford groceries and rent.
I am used to the good-natured ribbing from my colleagues. But I do not believe we need a $1 trillion budget to have a strong, modern defense. And I want to see more investment in good jobs at home than billions spent on more wars abroad.
The final vote out of the House Armed Services Committee for the FY26 NDAA had only two "No" votes. Reps. Ro Khanna and Sara Jacobs. The chamber started cheering "Ro, RO, RO!" until they were surprised by Jacobs joinging him. Khanna is usually the lone no vote.
Rules voted 5-7 to deny my amendment calling for a FULL release of the Epstein file a vote in the House. Republican @RepRalphNorman showed courage, voting yes. @chiproytx missed but I hope supports this. @RepMcGovern led all 4 Dems to vote yes.
BREAKING: Representative Ro Khanna has released an amendment to demand the release of the Epstein files, and will attempt to have politicians vote on it tomorrow.
Happy #BastilleDay! Revolution began when the people rose up to dismantle oppression & monarchy Liberty, equality, fraternity

People are tired of our broken system. The common sense position for Democratic politicians to run on is Medicare for All.
New Economist/YouGov poll Do you support or oppose "Medicare for all"? Support: 59% Oppose: 27% Net Approval: +32%
Tax exempt orgs can’t engage in elections — so if churches wanna start campaigning they should start paying taxes
NEW TONIGHT: @IRS says that churches can now endorse candidates from the pulpit, carving out an exemption to a decades-old ban on politicking by tax-exempt nonprofits. nytimes.com/2025/07/07/us/…
If churches can make political endorsements and make political donations, they can pay taxes.

This is footage from today in MacArthur Park. Minutes before, there were more than 20 kids playing — then, the MILITARY comes through. The SECOND I heard about this, I went to the park to speak to the person in charge to tell them it needed to end NOW. Absolutely outrageous.
It’s not normal. Lawler voted to make the tax breaks on billionaires PERMANENT while making the no tax on tips (just for those making less than $25k) EXPIRE in just 3 years. He’s also kicking tipped employees off Medicaid, ACA, and clawing back their SNAP.
Lawler: This is a big win for Americans across the country. No tax on tips, no tax on overtime FOX: Those will expire in 2028 correct? Lawler: Sure, but that’s normal
Building more homes near transit, and in urban infill cities is a far cry from building on coast and wetlands. I am begging journalist to understand the building more housing or housing is best suited SAVES nature from sprawling development
Not loving @nytimes's "housing trumps the environment" gloss on today's generational reforms of CEQA. These reforms most certainly are not an invitation to pave over paradise. 1/9
Big congrats to @Scott_Wiener for passing #SB79 thru Asm Housing Committee! As someone who’s lived directly next to transit all my life, we need to accelerate our TOD hubs! 1/4 mile from train stations is exactly where we need an abundance of housing Proud to co-author
