Worldwide Aircraft Recovery is moving the E-8C at Lackland across the base to become a ground trainer. They posted an update today with interesting pictures of the radar housing.

Why not? They got less stealth fighters than ours (and of inferior quality) while we have more 4th and 4.5th gen aircraft in our air force and significantly more in our navy.

Interesting the RAF wouldn't go for the belly COMINT suite on their E-7As. If their procurement history is anything like ours, they'll realize they need it 10 years later and then just never install it.
Interestingly, it looks like the RAF E7 doesn't have the wingtip ESM sensors that the RAAF aircraft do
I watched a documentary about this airport with my dad when I was young. It was considered the most dangerous approach for the longest time. Pilots would set their instruments to Checkerboard Hill then descend and turn right to visually align w/ RWY 13. Absolutely wild stuff
