Re-reading @Rabs_AA 's long-piece on US-Pakistan troubles over perceived Pakistani missile aspirations and it strikes me that there are non-costly offramps available that would preserve Pakistani sovereignty while helping assuage US concerns. Here is one Akhtar mentions.
