If adopted, the Urban Renewal Act (URA) must benefit communities, not displace them. The current proposal seems to favour developers more than the communities. If poorly implemented, URA could lead to overdevelopment, gentrification and the displacement of existing residents.…
It is so late, Ms Kallas. Only sanctions can stop Israel. Suspending the EU agreement with Israel is a must. Anything less will be just performance, which the millions of Europeans who are grieving for the genodice in Gaza, would much prefer being spared from.
The killing of civilians seeking aid in Gaza is indefensible. I spoke again with @gideonsaar to recall our understanding on aid flow and made clear that IDF must stop killing people at distribution points. All options remain on the table if Israel doesn’t deliver on its pledges
Civilians cannot be targets. Never. The images from Gaza are unbearable. The EU reiterates its call for the free, safe and swift flow of humanitarian aid. And for the full respect of international and humanitarian law. Civilians in Gaza have suffered too much, for too long.…

Finally, a universal cash transfer, which essentially is universal basic income It isn’t much (and apparent the spending restriction is a negative), but it’s a good start as an experiment for the usual tax-and-transfer approach Could be scaled up later
On universal cash transfer restriction, it'd have been great if that RM100 could be used for public transport too A missed opportunity to negate the pro-cars message arising from lower petrol price and a missed opportunity make policy aligned better to public transport agenda

No one does it like Jon Stewart. Watch his reaction to CBS cancelling Stephen Colbert & thank him. Need so more of this.

I am such a lurker on Threads. I post nothing there, just lurk Today in lurking: A Malaysian parent asking for advice for how to ensure her kid (who lives in Malaysia) has British accent. 😂
My physics teacher moved in Form 5 and we had no teacher for months. My form teacher taught herself physics so she could teach us, literally doing workbooks a few days before we covered the topics in class. We tutored each other so we wouldn't disappoint her -- 36 passes, 0 fails

Terima kasih atas keprihatinan anda yg mesej saya.
The Orang Asli communities in Malaysia are gathering to celebrate this year’s World’s Indigenous Peoples Day! However, they need donations to secure their participation at this national event so they can speak about defending their rights & our forests. Please share this around.
A single organ could give someone a second chance at life; what greater legacy than that?
They start talking about jenazah tak sempurna, lama tunggu nak uruskan jenazah etc. Surely the good (and hopefully bountiful pahala for the deceased) that this harvested organ can do eclipse other considerations?
#Organdonation #Malaysia Organ donation allows the recipient to live longer, allows their families to improve their economic situation as the recipient can work to earn an income after transplant. There is no greater gift to another human being other than the gift of life.
I often hear people choose donate to charity in a way that that the pahala perpetuates even after they are gone. Things like donating to build a masjid or an orphanage where the good effect multiplies. But somehow they don't apply the same concept to organ donation.
