It’s 2025 & Malaysia still does not have a transboundary haze pollution law despite it being promised during elections. Malaysia holds this year’s ASEAN chairmanship yet this annual environmental crisis is not a priority. The right to clean air needs to be institutionalised.

From 2020 to 2024, we have lost 112 Malayan tapirs due to being killed by vehicles. They now top the list of large mammals killed in road accidents. They are endangered too. This is a critical moment. We need to protect our forests & have more wildlife-friendly infrastructure.
