NEW: The NCAA and Power 5 have spent $15M+ on a sophisticated operation involving DC’s most powerful lobbying and PR firms to halt—and reverse—the golden age of athletes rights that has earned players millions. "This is a breathtaking lobbying campaign." frontofficesports.com/a-breathtaking…
NEW: The basic framework for an agreement has been reached over NIL collective deal scrutiny, @FOS can confirm. The CSC will treat collectives like any other business when evaluating whether deals are for a valid business purpose. @YahooSports 1st. frontofficesports.com/house-v-ncaa-l…
House v. NCAA attorneys have reached an agreement over how NIL collectives would be treated under the NIL Go clearinghouse. Under the agreement, NIL collectives will be able to pay athletes without it counting toward a school’s revenue cap. @achristovichh’s story ⬇️
The timeline of events here in Las Vegas regarding the agreement about how collectives would be handled by the NIL clearinghouse. Full story, with @FOS confirmation of the framework of an agreement: frontofficesports.com/house-v-ncaa-l…

At 1:34 p.m. PT, a spokesperson for the College Sports Commission told @FOS negotiations over NIL collective guidance were still ongoing. At 2:51 p.m. PT, @RossDellenger reported an agreement was reached. As of now, CSC still hasn't responded to inquiry about the new report.

A spokesperson for House plaintiff attorney Steve Berman just told @FOS basically the same thing. They are declining to comment and said that they will not issue a statement today.
House plaintiffs' attorney co-counsel Jeffrey Kessler declined to comment, telling @On3sports that there is "nothing to announce yet."
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day tells reporters that he does have players who have lost out on NIL money because of "NIL Go"--where they've either been denied deals or haven't heard back in time to do the deal. (I wrote about this a couple weeks ago: frontofficesports.com/kind-of-a-joke…)
Hopped on @FOS_Today to break down Day 1 of the ACC media days from Charlotte.
Tuesday’s edition of @FOS_Today is live ⬇️ Presented by @Atlassian x.com/i/broadcasts/1…
Really interesting to hear Ryan Day (as well as Greg Schiano) say positive things about the state of college football as a sport. They talked about popularity and quality of play on the field, even as the off-field rules change.

Power 4 commissioners still can’t agree on the makeup of an expanded College Football Playoff. From the Big Ten's media day in Vegas to the ACC's in Charlotte, here's what the power conference commissioners want out of the new CFP. By @achristovichh and @_DavidRumsey ⬇️
Power 4 commissioners still can’t agree on the makeup of an expanded College Football Playoff. At ACC media days, Jim Phillips embraced a 5+11 model. At Big Ten media days, Tony Petitti offered opposing views. DOUBLE DATELINE STORY w/ @_DavidRumsey: frontofficesports.com/power-conferen…
An honor and a privilege to work with @achristovichh on our first double byline/double dateline together for @FOS !! From Charlotte to Las Vegas, the ACC and Big Ten's differing views on CFP expansion show we're not close to a resolution. frontofficesports.com/power-conferen…
Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano gives a positive outlook on college football. "I know people like to moan and groan" about the new rules, he says. "Let's see if this'll work," adding there could be tweaks. But overall, "I think college football is still incredibly popular."
Illinois football coach Bret Bielema on his players getting revenue-sharing payments through PayPal: "Holy shit, the world has changed."
Meanwhile at Big Ten media days in Las Vegas... As expected, Tony Petitti is not backing down from his distain for the 5+11 model in a 16-team College Football Playoff. The debate continues.
Petitti on the CFP continued: "Formats that increase the discretion and role of the CFP selection committee will have a difficult time getting support from the Big Ten."
