My most deeply felt solidarity will always be for people who simply do not feel at home in the spaces that are supposed to be *for* them
This is important. Look how Western media frames the story as if Israel is helping—rather than STARVING—Gaza. When Palestinians die of starvation, Israel is erased from headlines. When even a little aid supposedly trickles in, Israel is named as the provider. This is by design.
I don’t know how every single institution will be held accountable for this. The number of complicit actors is simply too many. This is the first time in history that genocide is so undeniable and live-streamed. Even those of us who tried to stop it are guilty of not doing enough

“Oh well the mom looks well fed so why is the baby starving” 🤡 Babies under 6 months do not eat food. When you starve a population, babies under 6months die first because if mom can’t produce enough milk, without formula baby dies. Crazy how many people don’t understand this.
They lied that it was Hamas. Lied that it was the UN. Lied that it was Egypt. It was Israel and only Israel starving children to death. All they had to do was give the order.
BREAKING: Aid trucks have started moving from Egypt toward Gaza and are expected to enter tomorrow morning, after receiving approval from Israel.
In case you’ve never heard @hakeemjeffries speak with conviction on any topic ever before, he is *very* excited that “Israel prevailed” against children throwing rocks at tanks. Also really loves to sound like George Wallace

Statement on the Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza.
A Holocaust film that had a Nazi officer saying this sort of thing would be criticized as too heavy handed and unrealistic. Yet here we are.
💥"Come get the humanitarian aid before I put you on the barbecue," teases Yinon Magal, one of Netanyahu's lesser Tuckers, "humanitarian aid ahead of the fryer." It is difficult to describe the deviancy of the Israelis currently in power.
This, I think, is the key point. We’re not talking about welcoming your pro-Israeli uncle into the fold, we’re talking about allowing people who *actively supported the genocide from positions of influence/power* into the fold without any kind of accountability or even contrition
A major lesson of the Bush era is that when there is no accountability, the same people remain in positions of influence and make decisions based on the same logics again and again. So no, I don’t think people who enabled genocide for nearly 2 years should get an easy pass
The starvation is not a mistake or an overreach in an otherwise OK situation. The starvation flows out of the illegal power Israel has LONG maintained over Palestinians & the accompanying impunity and dehumanization. This has to end with rights and sovereignty for Palestinians
The arm of the US government that was responsible for famine relief was called the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance at @USAID. Staffed by incredible, dedicated professionals who were really damn good at their jobs. It was dismantled by @elonmusk.
Mr @POTUS @JDVance @BernieSanders @RobertKennedyJr @RepThomasMassie @RoKhanna can we please get aid into GAZA NOW?! Children are starving to death!! We are America. This isnt about politics. This is about humanity.
🟥 State Dept. Spokesperson Unleashes Full Propaganda Attack to Blame Gaza Starvation on UN and Hamas In a Fox News segment, U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce spoke at length about the issues in Gaza—not once naming Israel as the party responsible for the horrific…
Who do you blame most for the man made starvation in Gaza happening today?
The current hasbara line: “this child isn’t just starving and malnourished, he ALSO had a terrible disease that isn’t being treated because Israel blew up the hospitals, killed the doctors and won’t let medication in. This proves we are the most moral country in the world! Am…
Exclusive: This is not the face of famine. It is the face of a medically vulnerable child whose tragic situation was hijacked and weaponised. Exposing the truth behind the viral Gaza 'famine' image of Mohammed Al-Matouq. 1/13 🧵⬇️⬇️⬇️
Neither can they even point to the general area their ancestors were from, while Palestinians can tell you the house they were in when Israel kicked them out.
Neither @YairNetanyahu nor @netanyahu can name a single ancestor of theirs who was in the Middle East before Zionism. The best they can point to is 1) a religion they disbelieve 2) contemporary DNA testing shows that a minority (the last such study said 17%) of their ancestors…
This is a hilariously dishonest framing His ancestors were european converts, not ethiopian converts If an american ethiopian then the answer is yes (Kind of like arabic artifacts are from arabia)
What a truly worthless man.
While a lasting resolution to the crisis in Gaza must involve a return of all hostages and a cessation of Israel’s military operations, these articles underscore the immediate need for action to be taken to prevent the travesty of innocent people dying of preventable starvation.…
Hi, financial journalist here 👋 This is not "basic finance," these are exploitative non-negotiable terms which makes this a form of predatory lending. Thanks 🙏
Don't they teach basic finance in high school? 🙄
Humanitarian professionals deliver aid into "active conflict zones" all the time. Yemen, DRC, Sudan, Syria, Tigray, Iraq... Gaza's isn't in crisis because it's uniquely more "complicated." It's in crisis because of the unprecedented aid obstruction by the Israeli government.
The Gaza Strip is the most complicated humanitarian challenge in the world. The only warzone where aid is expected to be delivered into active combat zones, which civilians are not allowed to flee. This would have looked completely different if Egypt had opened its border.
You see how it works? When bad things happen—like people dying of hunger—Israel’s culpability is removed even when the starvation is deliberate policy. When “good” things happen—like any aid getting in—Israel is named in a positive light. This is how you whitewash war crimes.
In Gaza the share of the population at risk of famine is 100%. “The risk of famine is total”.
.@adam_tooze on the singular character of the Israeli-imposed famine in Gaza:
Quite striking what gets mentioned first, as is the use of the passive voice.
