Happy to share our final published @eLife article characterizing the role of the parasubthalamic nucleus (PSTN) in food intake! Work from 10 @WilliamsCollege students including @GraceKromm and @OliviaBarnhill1. And @michael_krashes too! elifesciences.org/articles/75470
Amazing work!
I’m so excited to share our preprint on how brainstem neurons sense and integrate multiple body signals during food consumption. We imaged 1000s of neurons across the lateral parabrachial nucleus (LPBN) in behaving mice. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Check out this amazing community! 🤩 A heartfelt thanks to all of you for making this such a special meeting! See you in 2026!! #HypoGRC
Amazing to organize the HypoGRC with @JacksonLabUConn @Profa_Correa @Neurrriot . A fantastic meeting with fantastic colleagues.
Such a privilege being a part of this amazing team @__Matt_Carter__ @Profa_Correa @Neurrriot putting together HypoGRC 2024!! @HypothalamusGrc #HypoGRC
Excited for the 2024 Hypothalamus GRC meeting! Amazing scientific stories this week. #HypoGRC @JacksonLabUConn @Profa_Correa @Neurrriot

Thanks @hubermanlab - this was a lot of fun discussing some of my favorite topics.
Often people will say, X food or activity increases GLP1, but in this Huberman Lab episode out now @zaknight explains why enormous increases in GLP1 are necessary for weight loss; increases that pharmacology alone can produce. It’s also a master class in the control of hunger.
This is going to be such a great meeting. Hope to see all my HypoColleagues there!

queued up for questions after an interesting talk be @__Matt_Carter__
Hosted @AmberAlhadeff at Williams today for a great talk about feeding circuits and got a visit from @NitsanGoldstein and @dietrich_mo as a bonus!

My Williams College capstone course for Neuroscience seniors just finished reading Projections by @KarlDeisseroth. We complemented the book with classic optogenetic papers by @OferYizhar and @syk_net, an amazing educational experience. So much material for rich conversations.

Great addition to the studies of PSTN in feeding. Congrats @ContetLab!
Thrilled to share the preprint of our investigation of parasubthalamic neurons in the control of feeding initiation - led with brio by Jeff Dunning!
Great study about fear-induced suppression of feeding featuring two of my favorite brain regions: the parabrachial nucleus and parasubthalamic nucleus nature.com/articles/s4146…
Great paper linking AgRP neurons to feeding behavior in activity-based anorexia from @michael_krashes lab! nature.com/articles/s4138…

In all seriousness, everyone should watch the Matilda musical on Netflix. It’s crazy good. youtu.be/Wk5DUEPErLc
