All the prior "harms" of using nicotine were tied to how it was consumed: combustion of tobacco leaves (cigarettes, cigars, dip, etc.) But nicotine pouches – and vaping devices – solved this problem! Now less people are dying because they're switching, and that's a good thing
You think nicotine is healthy!?
scrap fossil fuel subsidies, sure. and all others. But otherwise, we should absolutely ignore the whims of a kangaroo international court who wish to relegate the developing and developed world to energy poverty
Landmark ruling in the Advisory Opinion by the ICJ on Climate Change. 1.5 degree C is legally the Planetary limit. All countries are legally obliged to comply. Even fossil-fuel subsidies can be illegal. States have duty to solve the planet crisis and can be held accountable.
The best laws are based on negative rather than positive rights. It’s why i don’t believe in a “Bitcoin law” — just let people live and use tech. Restrict state action, empower individuals within reasonable frameworks, and punish those who harm others
as @JamesCz19 says, good policy means letting users have the choice to use cutting-edge tech! And in this case, it's the WH's AI Action plan. Good accolades for the team we've built at @ConsumerChoiceC!
Pretty awesome to see my colleague @JamesCz19 quoted here by the @WhiteHouse on the AI Action Plan whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/…
The AI Action Plan is like a treasure box of excellent ideas. Every time I reach inside, there's something new and exciting. Here are a few of the nuggets that really caught my attention for potential positive impact: 🧵
Mike Davis and the anti-tech MAGA right in shambles
.@POTUS speaking on the patchwork of state #AI laws and the need for preemption: "We have to have a single federal standard. Not 50 different states regulating this industry of the future." #AIActionPlan whitehouse.gov/live
this is SUPER CREEPY, but it's the first episode of the new Consumer Choice Center podcast CONTROL FREAKS listen here open.spotify.com/episode/6Wp26I…
The first episode of Control Freaks, a new podcast series by @ConsumerChoiceC dropped yesterday. You can subscribe on Spotify and hit the notification bell to not miss the next three episodes! Particular thanks to @scotthamkennedy for being a part of this episode!
“If you read an article and learn from it, you need to be able to use it without the complexity of contract negotiations.” Thank you @POTUS for saying what should be obvious: training on publicly available information is fair use and vital to US AI Dominance.
My comment on Trump Al Action Plan’s “review” of FTC actions in @business (Bloomberg) This isn’t an automatic boon to large tech companies investing in AI, nor should it be, but it does mean that we can perhaps return to a consumer welfare standard bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
Nugget found in the AI Action Plan: a “review” of all FTC investigations and cases started by the last administration that would be a burden on AI innovators… may turn out to be one of the crucial pieces to dismantle and extirpate the Lina Khan anti-market competition agenda
oh hell yeah @huggingface FTW
It’s time for the American AI community to wake up, drop the "open is not safe" bullshit, and return to its roots: open science and open-source AI, powered by an unmatched community of frontier labs, big tech, startups, universities, and non‑profits. If we don’t, we’ll be forced…
.@JamesCz19 ENTERS THE CHAT "This is a world of difference from the hostile regulatory approach of the Biden Administration, and a welcome breath of fresh air for consumers who want cutting-edge tech."

This is a bold vision for the future of ensuring #AI leadership by the Trump admin. The Golden Age of America is made possible when we position our innovators to be as successful as possible! The economy of tomorrow starts with the building blocks laid out in this action plan!
Today the @WhiteHouse released America’s AI Action Plan to win the global race. We need to OUT-INNOVATE our competitors, BUILD AI & energy infrastructure, & EXPORT American AI around the world. Visit AI.gov
This is really important. And it undoubtedly applies not only to final orders and consents, but also to many currently active investigations commenced before January 20, 2025. Second chance legal and economic advocacy opportunities at the FTC for AI companies paying attention.
