Across Africa, over 6 million refugees rely on @WFP for food and support. But when funding falls short, they’re the first to suffer—facing hunger, malnutrition and impossible choices. 🚨This vital lifeline is at risk.
In #Uganda, WFP supports 660,000+ refugees—including 64,000 who recently fled violence in eastern #DRC. But this is less than half the 1.6M we assisted in April. WFP needs $50M to restore full support through 2025.

Without proper #nutrition, children face lifelong consequences. With our partners in #Uganda, WFP has helped create METU, a powerful mix of local ingredients 🥜🌽🍯 to treat moderate acute malnutrition. WFP works closely with parents like Lilly, so their families stay healthy.
"Even if I no longer receive WFP aid, I can feed my family and pay school fees," says Juma, a refugee, met during @IrlEmbUganda's visit to Rhino Camp refugee settlement in #Uganda. WFP has supported over 57,000 refugees to become self-reliant, with Ireland as a key supporter.

I recently met Meruda in Uganda, a nurse forced to flee her home in South Sudan with her 3 young children due to conflict. @WFP supports her family & millions of other refugees with food assistance. But funding shortfalls meant we cut 1M refugees from this lifeline last month.
