I'm a Postdoctoral Associate at University of Western Ontario, trying to wrap my brain around hands. @PruszynskiLab @SensorimotorSuperlab @UWO
If you’re at CAN-ACN 2025, come check out my poster today D-138! Let’s talk about the link between anatomy, physiology and function - touch and touch processing! And there will be some pictures too!

Anyone in Edinburgh for the Peripheral Nerve Society meeting? Come see my poster tomorrow Poster #235 #PNS2025

Do it! Looking forward to decades of wonderful science from a wonderful human's lab.
The neural control & computation lab website is live! 🦾🧠🥳 We want to understand how the brain controls movement! If you do too – consider joining the lab, which will open in July at @YorkUniversity in Toronto. ncclab.ca
Pigeon in the poster hall! No, that's not a metaphor! #sfn2023 #SFNDC

A big update today to this preprint, with new experiments and eye tracking! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
0/6 Happy to announce that our new preprint on planning in sequential movements is up now: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Please get in touch if there is anything you'd like to discuss. You can find a summary in the thread 🧵👇
Obsessed is right. There's first order tactile neurons in the marm hand, and soo much more, but on and off poster. Come see me at my poster on Monday, and let's chat!!!
@Vaishu_Sukumar will be presenting her work detailing the Meissner innervation in the glabrous skin of the marmoset hand. Special emphasis on how single neurons branch. We are *obsessed* with these branches as a computational substrate. Monday PM / AA5 abstractsonline.com/pp8/#!/10892/p…
Whoa!!!
Our signal propagation atlas of C. elegans is now out in @Nature! We measure the network’s response to optogenetic stimulation of each neuron in the head, one at a time-- over 23,000 neuron pairs. Congrats to @francescorandi @aksharma_118 & @DvaliSophie. nature.com/articles/s4158…
Wonderful @SchulichMedDent write up about our very own @wusmsl post-doc @JonAMichaels and his involvement with Science Meets Parliament. Thanks Jonathan and everyone who spent their time meeting with decision makers and advocating for science. schulich.uwo.ca/about/news/202…
As someone who was an international student until recently, it takes a lot of privilege or the willingness to take on a lot of financial and social burden to be an international grad student.
A 'Canada-first' approach to graduate student funding is harmful to research diversity and excellence. Some thoughts... (click image below) nissl.ca/post/rethinkin…
My daughter was inducted to several different Hall of Fame organizations for athletes, but this is the first for me 🥇🎉🌻
Help us congratulate Katalin Karikó on her induction into the National Inventors Hall of Fame® for her work with modified mRNA technology for the COVID-19 vaccine! #NIHF2023
Beautiful touch sensory neuron axons around a hair follicle. This is why I want to understand the molecules that wires this exquisite structure!😍 congratulations @AnnieHandler and @qiyuzhang2 🥳
The latest issue is out: cell.com/neuron/current The cover illustrates Ginty and coll.'s study on the mechanisms underlying light touch, with a 3D reconstruction of a mechanosensory end organ. Find the paper here: cell.com/neuron/fulltex…

Fuzzz tribute to Sliman. Wonderful music, neuroscientists and fans. We missed you Sliman. Raise a ruckus forevermore 🖤

As a student, the library has been a sanctuary, & the librarians fairy god mothers plenty of times for me. That seems to be the universal experience. Librarians are an integral &crucial part of the university ecosystem. Treat them fairly @WesternU. You need them. We need them.
Come on @WesternU, stop stalling. Librarians are a critical part of our academic environment and they deserve a fair deal. I hear international students in particular love them.
Meet with sensory-motor neuroscientists studying circuitry in a variety of systems! The *2023 Barrels Meeting*--our 36th--will be held Nov 9-10 prior to the annual Society for Neuroscience meeting. Barrels isn’t just about barrel cortex. Invited speakers:
If you're making travel plans to DC for @SfNtweets, make sure you don't miss out on what surely will be a fantastic talk by @MarkChurchland: Wednesday at 1230. I am honored to moderate as my last SfN program committee duty and as a huge fan.
rest in peace Sliman Bensmaia, professor, musician, all around maniac (in a good way). uchicagomedicine.org/forefront/news…
