Dangerous and life-threatening flooding and heavy rain continues this morning over Burnet, western Williamson, and northwestern Travis counties. A **Flash Flood Emergency** remains in effect for these areas. Seek higher ground if near a flooded creek or stream.
7/3 1:56 PM Showers and thunderstorms producing locally heavy rainfall will move northward along I-35 through the Austin metro area through 3 PM. Motorists should remain alert for ponding of water on roadways.

Heat builds build today and peaks this weekend. Temperatures reach the mid to upper 90s to near 105 degrees in most locations with higher heat indices. Heat Advisories could be needed this weekend for some locations. Stay cool and hydrated and know the symptoms of heat illness!
