🚨 11.6 million people forced to flee are at risk of losing life-saving aid. Not because the needs are gone, but because the funding is. This is the biggest humanitarian aid cut in over a decade. 👉 Donate now: unh.cr/6878b5640

Today UNHCR launched a report confirming what I have seen in many places with my own eyes. Funding cuts and dramatic levels of displacement have a devastating impact on millions of refugees around the world — with entire regions at risk of instability. unhcr.org/news/briefing-…
Across the globe, funding shortfalls are forcing UNHCR to scale back life-saving support for millions of forcibly displaced people. We asked UNHCR staff in the field: What does this crisis look like from where you stand? Here's what they've told us.
📍 Mellit, North #Darfur🇸🇩 Our partners are supporting 1,000 displaced families who fled El Fasher with essentials: blankets, mats, plastic sheets, kitchen sets & jerrycans. Humanitarian needs remain immense. More support is critical to save lives. #KeepEyesOnSudan

📍 Blue Nile State 🇸🇩 Thousands of Sudanese refugee returnees live in makeshift shelters, exposed to harsh weather & lacking basics. #UNHCR delivered relief kits & family tents to 3,000+ families, reaching 40,000 people. Every item brings safety. Every tent restores dignity.

UNHCR is being forced to scale back operations. We’re prioritizing life-saving aid, but the gap has driven operations to the brink, also jeopardizing efforts aimed at achieving self reliance. unhcr.org/news/briefing-…
Major cuts to aid budgets have left people fleeing wars in #Sudan and beyond without the assistance and protection they need, @UNHCRinSudan warns news.un.org/en/story/2025/…
“We fled & suffered as refugees. The Sudanese welcomed us. Now, we welcome them with the little we have.” In Girba camp, Eritrean refugees open their homes and hearts to Sudanese families displaced by war. In times of crisis and limited resources, this is true solidarity. 🎥⬇️

In Port Sudan, #UNHCR & COR gathered 30 protection & RSD staff from 7 states for a 2-day workshop to strengthen refugee status determination in #Sudan🇸🇩. The workshop focused on making asylum systems fair, efficient & rights-based, from better interviews to quicker decisions.

Heartbreaking to see the immense destruction in #Khartoum today, a city that has generously welcomed thousands of refugees. Huge work ahead to rebuild but authorities & partners are doing their very best to support. Our commitment to stay & support as much as we can stands.

Grateful to Sudanese senior officials for the constructive dialogue with UNHCR’s Regional Director. UNHCR remains committed to working closely with the authorities to support those most in need, within the limits of available resources.
Our Regional Director @mamadou_dbalde arrived in #Sudan🇸🇩 today for his mission (13–20 July). In Port Sudan, he met senior officials & visited displaced families as 12M+people are uprooted by war. The call is urgent: Sudan needs global solidarity & attention now more than ever.
🇫🇷 On France’s National Day, we thank the people and government of France for standing with refugees and displaced families in #Sudan🇸🇩. Your support and solidarity help us protect and assist those uprooted by conflict. Merci Beaucoup! #BastilleDay #KeepEyesOnSudan
