As UNHCR continues to provide safety to people fleeing Sudan despite dire circumstances, the support from Sweden 🇸🇪 enables the provision of safe, reliable water.

These aren’t just budget cuts. They’re lifelines being pulled from millions of people forced to flee. This is the real impact of funding cuts.

Conflict and armed clashes continue to endanger people in DR Congo. Support from Sweden 🇸🇪 means UNHCR can continue to provide them with core relief items like kitchen sets, mosquito nets and blankets, as well as dignity kits with hygiene products for women and girls.

Today, #UNHCR Deputy Rep. Ms. Mandy Owusu alongside UNHCR colleagues, hosted Ms. Emma Pajunen & Ms. Saara Asikainen from the Finnish Embassy. Discussions centered on strengthening collaboration, addressing critical funding gaps & scaling up support for displaced communities.

“Every single death is one death too many.” Despite heroic efforts by the Lampedusa community, funding cuts are putting even more lives at risk. An urgent plea from High Commissioner @filippoGrandi: Do not cut humanitarian and development assistance.

Refugee women are rebuilding communities, running businesses & sustaining families, often in the toughest conditions. Behind this progress are women-led organizations. They deserve sustained support.

Over 3 million Afghans have returned from neighbouring countries since September 2023. Whilst aid dwindles, support from donors like Denmark, means UNHCR, together with partners, can stabilize and provide returning refugees with cash grants. Thank you @DanishMFA for your support!
