Shoutout to Emilio Cesar Espino (@utditella ) as he concludes his semester long visit during which he taught half of 1st yr PhD Macro 2, a mini-course on International Macro, presented his research at our macro seminar and met with PhD students and faculty.

The Dept's 2025 Best PhD Workshop Presentation Award is being awarded to @sebinbn. This includes a nomination and funding to present at the SEA conference in Tampa this November. Congratulations ! Funding comes from a generous gift by our alumnus @santosh_econ (PhD ’09).
This week at our Applied Micro Seminar, we hosted Professor Ellen Meara, who shared insights on recent trends in midlife mortality in the US.

This week, we had Gregorio Caetano & @carolcaetanoUGA visit for the micro seminar. Gregorio presented new work on the gender gap in children's chores & its impact on skills. @carolcaetanoUGA gave a lecture on the bunching-based identification strategy used in that paper.


We thoroughly enjoyed watching the many presentations by researchers from @UTAustinEcon @RiceEcon @UH_Econ @TAMUECON @DallasFed, as well as interacting with them over breaks, dinner, breakfast... and s'mores!
Thank you for hosting this year's Texas Camp Econometrics. Our students and faculty enjoyed the aesthetic venue and the deliberations.
