JianBo Qiao, a doctoral student in the #UBuffalo #HEATLab successfully passed his oral and written qualification exams. What an accomplishment! Looking forward to him developing his next heat strain study. CONGRATULATIONS! #CRESE #UBSPHHP

The #UBuffalo #HEATLab's Dr. Riana Pryor helped contribute to this article about heat-related illnesses in workers. Stay cool out there! #Workers #HeatSafety #UBSPHHP @Buffalo_AT nwaonline.com/news/2025/jun/…
Thank you to all the #NATA2025 attendees who stayed to listen to the last talk of the last session - our very own Dr. Pryor! We shared results from Alex and Hannah’s project on the impact of weight cutting on cognition #Hydrate #SportSafety #HEATLab #UBSPHHP #UBuffalo

Last week, Dr. Pryor @UB_HEAT_Lab taught on environmental emergencies. Students were able to practice cold water immersion, polar pod and TACO methods for cooling. Perfect timing with the heat wave heading towards Buffalo! #UBuffalo #UBSPHHP #HeatLab
One of the best parts of attending a professional conference is seeing past colleague and networking with future ones. We found these #UBuffalo folks at #NATA2025! Go Bulls! #AthleticTraining #UBSPHHP @Buffalo_AT

Hot and humid conditions will continue through the day Tuesday. A front that will bring some relief by mid week, may produce some showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon into the early evening as it sags southward into our area.
This week Dr. Pryor taught our @Buffalo_AT students about heat-related illnesses and treating heat stroke using cold water immersion. If you suspect someone has heat stroke, a cold bath or shower can be life-saving. Stay safe during this heat wave! #HEATLab #UBSPHHP #UBuffalo

As this heat wave rolls in, avoid outdoor activity during the middle of the day, take lots of water/rest breaks, and check on your neighbors and family. Libraries and splash pads are great places to cool down! Stay safe out there. #heatwave #HEATLab #climateresilience
If you are in any of these affected areas, make sure you have a way to stay cool and be sure to check in on your neighbors and loved ones, especially the elderly. weather.com/forecast/regio…
Great learning and networking at #ACSM2025. Our #UBuffalo #CRESE and #HEATLab trainees and alumni presented great science and we are looking forward to next year!

As the weather heats up, check your backseat for kids before you leave your car. A new routine or route can make you more likely to forget to drop your child off at school or daycare. Keep your bag in the backseat to help you double check #heatsafety #heatstroke #UBSPHHP
A child should never be left in a vehicle at any age, in any temperature, for any period of time. Learn more about how to prevent hot car related injuries and death by visiting kidsandcars.org. #govnpc #vnpc #virginianpc
Rounding out the posters at #ACSM2025 from #UBuffalo #CRESE is doctoral student Liz Lavoie, who is presenting today 1:30-3:30. Come say hello!

Today we welcomed Ryan Boyette and Danielle Christensen into the Alpha Eta Honor Society. Dr. Pryor also received a faculty induction! Students and faculty are inducted into this honor society for allied health professions. Way to go everyone! #ubsphhp #alphaetahonorsociety
As we wrap up the semester, the #HEATLab is reflecting on our accomplishments this year. Congrats to all of the trainees for a job well done! #UBuffalo #UBSPHHP #CRESE

Very proud of our athletic training students who presented their reviews at Perry Poster Day. Translating science can be just as important as the science itself! #HEATLab #UBSPHHP #UBuffalo
First-years Emma, Molly, Paul and Corinne were able to present their Critically Appraised Topic (CAT) Papers from Dr. Pryor's @UB_HEAT_Lab class at our @ubsphhp Perry Poster Day! Great job turning these CAT papers into poster presentations! #UBuffalo #UBSPHHP #HeatLab
