Psychologist and neuroscientist @SFFNORMENT, generally curious about the human mind and its many challenges & somewhat obsessed with the cerebellum
Our paper "Large-scale citizen science reveals predictors of sensorimotor adaptation" is now published in @NatureHumBehav! Here's a thread on our 5-year journey (2019 - 2024) and findings. 🧵 nature.com/articles/s4156…
Not entirely true. Many nootropics work better than placebo, but none of them are shown to work better than caffeine. Basically anything that wakes you up will make you perform better on cognitive tasks, but you can’t wake up any further. And of course the classic nootropic is…
Nootropics don't work. If they did every tech company in the world would be shoving them down their employees' throats.

🧠Big news, little brain 🧠 I’m excited to share our preprint introducing our hierarchical cerebellar atlas!🎉 We fused many fMRI datasets into a comprehensive map of the cerebellum - and created a new resource for localizing and interpreting data. 🧵1/7 doi.org/10.1101/2023.0…
Excellent work by @milin_myelin ! She presents normative models of the cerebellum at voxel-wise precision, across the lifespan in >54 individuals. Her models are compatible with different atlases and shared with the community via the PCNportal. Check it out!

Great new work by PhD student Milin Kim in our group!!! If you’re interested in how human cerebellar anatomy changes across the lifespan, here you’ll find voxel-wise normative models based on more than 54.000 MRIs… :-)

Hi everyone. Tomorrow (7th Nov Tuesday) 9am UK time - I'm presenting my book (virtually) for @OsloMet Seminar series. If you haven't heard it - or want to hear it again - come join us here! oslomet.no/en/about/event…
New paper 🚨! I honestly still can’t believe it! I went to a conference, gave a talk about my work, and got an email from a Lancet editor whether I want to write a review paper about it! So I did and I took @ACrestol @AnnMariedeLange & @LiisaGalea along for the ride! 😳🥹🥳
Velkommen!🤗

Again, great work by @estenhl recently out as preprint! medrxiv.org/content/10.110… "Our work exemplifies the clinical potential of explainable artificial intelligence in precision medicine"
My second PhD paper is out today in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience🥳 Based on covariance in functional brain networks, we derived replicable dimensions of psychopathology in a developmental clinical sample. [1/9] doi.org/10.1016/j.dcn.…
On March 27, we will run the 4-day online course "Genome-Wide Association Studies: Why, How and then What?" The course primarily targets PhD students at @UniOslo_MED (3 ECTS), but is open to everyone interested. Please RT! med.uio.no/norment/forskn…

My first PhD paper is out today in @ELSneuroscience! In a sample of youth where the majority had at least one psychiatric disorder, we found cross-diagnostic patterns of impaired social skills and cognitive ability in the brain🧠 🔗: sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Brief thread [1/6]
Before abandoning Twitter, one last shout out: We are hiring a new postdoc in cerebellar imaging! Come join the imaging group that is most serious and obsessed about the most irrelevant (according to some) part of the brain :-) diedrichsenlab.org/open_postdoc_c…
Excited to share my first PhD paper!🎉In this study, we examined structural brain measures🧠, brain age gap🧠🧓, and physical traits🫀🫁💪 in individuals carrying a 15q11.2 BP1-BP2 deletion or duplication🧬. (🧵1/7) nature.com/articles/s4139…
