Erica Stanford solved the cellphone issue in New Zealand schools in a matter of one term. As for recess time, principals around the country are delighted to have noisy playgrounds with students interacting rather than heads down on their devices. Just ban cellphones.
No need to take smartphones from kids in schools. Just put signal jammers in every school so NOBODY can use their phones until they’re outside. Teachers and staff can go out to use theirs at Will. Kids can use at recess. Problem solved.
