The North Lansing Fire Station (1189 Auburn Road) will host the next Citizen Preparedness Corps training in Tompkins County on Monday, August 11th at 6:00pm. Register at prepare.ny.gov

Today and Saturday will be a rinse and repeat of yesterday with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms popping up, mainly during the afternoon and evening. At this time the threat for any severe storms is low. The chance for showers/storms increases Sunday. #NYwx #PAwx

A Heat Advisory has been issued for 11AM to 8PM Thursday.
After low humidity and cool temperatures the past couple of days, today will mark the beginning of a warmup with highs in the lower to mid 80s. Thurs. will be hot and humid with highs in the mid 80s to lower 90s and heat indices in the mid to upper 90s for some areas. #NYwx #PAwx

Today will feature more spectacular late July weather with temperatures slightly below normal, low humidity, and plenty of sunshine! The rest of the week will be progressively getting warmer and more humid, with hot and humid weather expected on Thursday and Friday. #NYwx #PAwx

Slow moving and back building storms are once again expected to develop across the S Tier, NEPA and Catskills this PM. A Flood Watch is in effect from 12pm through the evening hours. Some of the T-storms today could become severe, with damaging winds as the main threat.
Watch out for signs of heat stroke, and seek medical attention immediately. Signs of a heat stroke are: • Extremely high body temperatures • Red, hot, and dry skin with no sweat. • Rapid, strong pulse • Dizziness, confusion, or unconsciousness.
Hot and humid today with heat indices in the mid 90s to low 100s. If planning outdoor activities, drink lots of water, take frequent breaks in the shade and wear light, loose fitting clothing. PM storms could produce heavy rain which may lead to isolated flash flooding.
