My issues with the doctrine of final justification. A 🧵 1. By making works a necessary condition for final justification, those who teach this doctrine of final justification reintroduce a form of merit, undermining the sufficiency of Christ’s righteousness imputed by faith.

Oliphint's and Van Til's views at best stand at the margin of what can be called Reformed and, at worst, create a kind of sectarian theology and philosophy that is out of accord with the older Reformed tradition and its confessions." Richard Muller
"How glorious he! how happy they, In such a glorious Friend! Whose love secures them all the way, And crowns them at the end." - John Newton This translates into a really amazing ska/punk song. Have a listen! cdn1.aimusicgen.ai/audios/0e0c586…
"The force of truth how great! When enemies confess, None but the righteous, whom they hate, A solid hope possess." - John Newton
The Law shows us what God demands and exposes our guilt ("do"). The Gospel shows us what God has done and proclaims our rescue ("done"). One commands, the other promises. One kills, the other gives life. Don’t blur the lines; souls depend on it.
We must come to grips with the fact that God loves the (believing) sinner as sinner. His love isn’t because we’re repentant sinners, or because we have the potential to not be sinners. He loves sinners as sinners, because His love is not based upon us, but Christ in our place.

"Thus the Lord can make a way To bring his saints relief; 'Tis their part to wait and pray, In spite of unbelief; He can break through walls of stone, Sink the mountain to a plain; They to whom his name is known, Can never pray in vain." - John Newton
I literally look at the @RBchurches map and semi-randomly pick churches to feature on the @1689_baptist page... but you can always request a church to be featured! Go to 1689.com > click on CONNECT in the menu > click Church Features > fill out the form
