This is my digital painting "restoration" of a lesser-known piece of Sleeping Beauty Castle concept art by the one and only Herb Ryman. It's the home page of Park Lore, and the perfect thing I can contribute to our celebration of this happy place. Happy 70th, Disneyland!

Is there a better vibe for Tomorrowland than this? It's such a no-brainer to turn this land back into a mid-century Space Age paradise of swirling rockets, PeopleMovers, monorails, crisp lines, retro robots, and good old fashioned optimism.

New to me: Disney World Annual Passes are taxed (Disneyland Magic Keys are not), so the $100 gift card ALMOST offsets the $100.69 tax on the highest level pass. 69¢ difference.

My eye is drawn to the turntable. Remember that the idea is that this will eventually play in (no pun intended) rotation with Lincoln who's back-to-back with Walt on the other side of that wall. The engineering to support the figures & their bases on a rotating table is wild.
