The Burdoin Fire quickly grew to 1,900 acres last night outside Bingen, Washington. High winds pushed the fire and it jumped Highway 14 at milepost 73. There was a state mobilization of resources including a Type 3 Team and additional resources. One local sent in footage before…
UPDATE: SR 142 is now CLOSED in both directions from MP 1 near Klickitat County Park to MP 4 near Knight Creek, due to the Burdoin Fire happening near Bingen and White Salmon. SR 14 remains CLOSED — plan ahead for an extended closure, use a different route and avoid the area.
SR 14 remains CLOSED from MP 66 near Bingen to MP 75.8 near SR 142 due to the Burdoin Fire. No ETA for reopening. Avoid the area! EB detour via Hood River Bridge. WB detour via US 97 Sam Hill Memorial Bridge or US 197 Dalles Bridge. Note: US 197 is CLOSED to commercial trucks.
