Have you ever wondered why so many of your neighbours have had Solar panels installed in recent years?
EV charge points in the UK grows by 27% over past year. More than 17,000 chargers added to network since July 2024. Now 82,000 public chargers in UK, on track to meet goal of 300,000 chargers by 2030. businessgreen.com/news/4516856/h…
🙏 SPONSORSHIP 🙏 Thank you to @TheSolarShed for their ongoing support during our 25/26 season. #upthepedlars
That every car park going forward should have a mix of solar and living roofed bays is a hill I am willing to die on. Expanses of tarmac are ecological wastelands that do nothing but reflect heat. If it hurts new out of town retail parks & benefits town centres? Even better.
Hey Local Authorities, UK wide. @N_landCouncil are putting you all to shame. Come on, catch up now solar-power.co.uk/Solar-carports
@SomersetCouncil - if Northumberland council can do it then Somerset can. 👍👇🏽 @DixieDarch @Oliver4Coker @BillRevans

I didn’t start Ecotricity for the money – I started it to bring about positive change.

If we were predominately powered by renewables, we wouldn't have this problem. Governments can't block the sun, wind, and tides. We need energy independence. ✅️ Invest in the grid, renewables, battery storage, and energy efficiency.

@Keir_Starmer, kindly direct your government to roll this out across the country!!!
I couldn't agree more Kev Solar panels over carparking is a no-brainer but they prefer to cover productive farmland for some reason

I have one. Plugged in. In the workshop. I get much hate because of ut by regulators. The countries poorest could come out of fuel poverty with these. My old beat had no gardens, just balconies. We help the poorest in society with this kit.
I visit this car park regularly (wife works for the council). Really impressive… I’d love to see the generation stats over the year. They provide free charging to staff whilst on-site, as an incentive for their EV scheme. I imagine this covers the power draw on most.
Quite a lot, and my next home will as well. Might actually put a ground array in as well.
Our roof makes us enough during the summer months to cover our winter expenses, including the EV charging.
Your solar setup is brilliant! Numbers like these show how households can truly lead the green energy shift. More roofs should follow your example!
