Yeah, obviously the Cubs would be very intent on the medicals being clear, all being well on that front. But his first start after that scare was quite encouraging. Velocity was up (touched 99), spin rates looked fine, & he was very effective (5 2/3 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K).
The only fear that I would have with Cabrera would be his Elbow.
I know they said that on the broadcast, but that's not accurate. He pitched last Saturday.
He was only on 4 days rest. They pushed him up so he would be scheduled to pitch in the brewers series, but it backfired tonight
This kind of willingness to trade veterans in lost seasons -- something the organization has had a massive problem doing in the past -- is the kind of thing the Rockies need to do to get enough talent long term.
“We swear we do not want to trade away Eugenio Suarez. Don’t even bother making offers. Unless they’re enormous, of course, but that’s up to you.”
The Diamondbacks informed other teams in the past that they would "probably" be sellers, but even after trading Josh Naylor to Seattle, it's unclear just how far Arizona will go. If the D-Backs decided to go all-in on selling, they could reshape their organization significantly,…
This has been the charade for weeks and then they made a notable move a week ahead of the deadline. Maybe they have a super hot week & get back into the WC race, but yeah. And they're 10 back of the Dodgers! That can't actually be part of their reasoning/hope.

This, uh, doesn’t cut the way the tweet seems to intend.
The Yankees had strong interest in Diamondbacks 3B Eugenio Suarez, but McMahon is under contract through 2027 at $16 million a year in 2026 and 2027. Suarez is a free agent in three months.
The problem is that $16 million a year might be more than he'd get on the open market. (I'd value him as like a 2/20 player today)
