Today, we remember the over 8,000 Bosniak men and boys who were murdered in the Srebrenica genocide in July 1995. The countless Bosniak women and girls who suffered unspeakable violence. The worst atrocity on European soil since World War II. We will never forget.

Denmark is taking over the EU Council Presidency today. We need bold leadership to protect climate and our industry. Europe must be at the forefront, climate action must be at the top of the EU agenda - to secure our future and our competitiveness. We need to act. Now.

I call on the Hungarian authorities to allow the Budapest Pride to go ahead. Without fear of any criminal or administrative sanctions against the organisers or participants. To the LGBTIQ+ community in Hungary and beyond: I will always be your ally.

Many citizens are reaching out to me and EP colleagues to support Budapest Pride and urge EU action to protect LGBTIQ* rights in Hungary. I will go to Budapest - marching in solidarity. We have to stand up to an authoritarian backlash. 🌈🇪🇺✨
