It’s astonishing to me that what were very normal interest rates prior to 2020, have completely crashed the Canadian Real Estate Market. If you are hoping for inflation to subsidize house prices to be insane again, is that sane?
Surviving developers will drive prices down now, seek efficiencies, and deliver value, fighting to stay afloat. The future bankrupt developers, meanwhile, will hold off, waiting for a stronger market. But when conditions improve, they’ll return en masse alongside other sitting…
Prices should be declining. But magical bankers and central governments are cloaking deflation by undermining the value of your labor by spending double what the rate of deflation is.
Tariffs are big multinational act to bilaterally raise taxes in a cloaked and desperate attempt for governments worldwide to maintain a grip on stability. Carney dropped income tax by 1% but who cares when tariff taxes go through the roof.
