"Alleged ties between NZ First and vaping companies a 'dangerous risk' to New Zealanders" Why are we not surprised? #ChildPredators rnz.co.nz/news/political…
The so-called industry ecig "success story" in Eng: Increases in vaping were greatest among people who had never regularly smoked (18 to 24-yrs). Ecig use rose sharply from 2021, but there were no faster declines in smoking rates among 18–24/25–44 yr-olds and an increase in 45+.

"I’m aware of no gov which has ever reduced tax on cigarettes to make them more affordable, a truly perverse step that would encourage uptake and depress quitting. It would be killing with kindness." Don't believe industry spin to reduce tobacco tax. simonchapman6.com/2025/07/25/sho…
For anyone who actually looks into the backgrounds of novel tobacco advocates on social media, here's some info on how Pinney & Associates pet "scientists" work to undermine real evidence on tobacco harms, while this miserable company hooked kids to their products.

WIP caffeine pouches directly targeting kids is run by the same Marketing Executive from Juul, widely blamed for creating the teen vaping epidemic. Just Big Tobacco again - going after the young and dumb. #Predators msn.com/en-au/news/oth…

"Restricting e-cigarettes to over-the-counter pharmacy access in NZ reduced 18-24 yr old vaping prevalence by 6% and increased health-adjusted life years (HALYs) while averting premature deaths". That's good, right? tobaccocontrol.bmj.com/content/early/…
Evidence from NZ that higher youth vaping means higher youth smoking. "Under the ‘high’ BAU scenario (60% vaping) interventions marginally increased smoking (2% for OTC)". While #PharmacyModel "modest reductions in vaping prevalence and net health gains". tobaccocontrol.bmj.com/content/early/…
Wow, now l know you don't have a clue. Tax is actually the biggest driver of reductions in tobacco consumption. Its unequivocal.

While the Nats continue to complain about "ugly wind turbines", this is what Victoria has to contend with in cleaning up Latrobe Valley coal mines collectively more than four times the size of Sydney Harbour, even while they continue to spew out millions of tons of pollution.

Great work @ChrisMinnsMP but more HR are needed to shut down the illegal tobacco shops and regain the hundreds of millions in lost revenues, while reducing tobacco prevalence and health care costs. @nswpolice @NSWHealth

While industry front groups clamour for less novel tobacco product regulation that will not happen anytime soon in Australia. And that's exactly the way Australians want it.

Industry advocates say the same about ecig harms. That’s how correlations work to establish causation.
Correlation is not causation – but sometimes it is. In recent years, as the size of government has grown, Australia’s economic productivity has declined. afr.com/politics/feder…
"E-cigarettes are the most popular nicotine product among youth in the USA and the majority of young people use products with flavours such as mint, menthol, fruit and candy." Clearly, there should be no kiddy flavours in harmful tobacco products. tobaccocontrol.bmj.com/content/early/…
"Remaining smokers are disproportionately drawn from the most marginalised and hardest-to-influence demographics: those facing homelessness, severe mental illness or intergenerational trauma." So, we should damn our kids to increase supply? #PharmacyModel aspistrategist.org.au/vapes-violence…
Hanson represents the calcification of public thought - an ossified relic of white anxiety, preserved and paraded like a national artefact long past its relevance. She is what happens when grievance becomes a lifestyle, and ignorance becomes a brand.
Well l guess the Lions needed to keep Pasifika players out to win that game. More like pussy cats when you need that edge. Rugby Australia break silence on Pete Samu row with 32-word statement rugbypass.com/news/pete-samu…
LGBTIQA+? What’s the bet less than 5% of people know what this stands for. Do queer people have a comms problem? Not that hard to come up with an acronym that is understood, if that is indeed what they are fighting for.
Back to blood sport with bare knuckles fighting promoted as entertainment. So was feeding people to the lions at one time but we evolved from that. More of Trumps new world.

Let's get this right @ChrisMinnsMP "We have to make a decision about whether we want police investigating domestic violence, or youth crime, or major terrorism incidents or regulating the tobacco sector." NSW losing hundreds of millions each year and you can't afford policing?

"It's not exactly a hidden trade, it's out in the open. Illicit cigarettes are so readily available, I can get them almost anywhere." How long before you do your job and enforce the law? @VictoriaPolice @VicGovDH msn.com/en-au/money/ma…
