Ari Aster is a puzzle: tho #Eddington is brilliantly made, I ended up feeling like he’d dunked me in a toilet. ferociously nihilistic, cynical, bleak & nauseating, it’s about paving the road to hell. Felt like Cannibal Holocaust with stars & money. Memorable, Powerful, Miserable!
I loved it. It’s Alex and his Droogs from A Clockwork Orange. Imagine being 13 in this world. The fun, the excitement the comraderie. Time for a pilgrim’s progress - high adventure beckons.
What are your thoughts on the ending scene and the forthcoming sequel? Personally I thought it was a weird (albeit foreshadowed) left turn, but other reactions seem to have been somewhat polarizing.
No need to see the first two films before 28 Years Later. The first is great w young Cillian Murphy, but this is its own story.
Should I see the other ones before this first?

Yes. I learned to not take it so personally; You’re the guy or you’re not the guy. (I auditioned for Ross on Friends. I was NOT Ross!) How could I say they were wrong not to cast me this time, but they were right to cast me three times before? Disappointed but that’s show biz!
@SurvivorPenner do you think your background as an actor helped cushion the blow of not being cast on 50? How does it compare to not getting cast in a role you auditioned for? You just took it so graciously, the thought came to mind!

Why no one over the age of 54 on S50? (never been a winner in their 60s though the average age of CBS viewers is 64!) possible Jeff P didn’t want another 63 year old out there constantly reminding everyone how damned old we both are? I would have savored that & still kicked ass!
Friends, while I was a disappointed late deletion from S 50, even I can’t argue with Mike White, Ozzy & Coach! I wish it had gone my way, but it’s a great, undeniable cast. Congratulations, boys! And onward!

Pretty rare. 10% of ALS is genetic. The family has the ‘C9’ gene mutation. My MIL’s father died of ALS. The next generation will battle it too. That’s why we must fight NOW.
Your MIL and your wife both had ALS? How rare is that?
Mothers Day is a biggie. Both my mother and my kids’ mother are gone. My stepmother killed herself, & my mother in law has ALS & dementia. Their memories are cherished. I have nothing to say but I’m missing them today. Hug your mother for me? Or tell her something nice? Thanks.
May is ALS Awareness Month. So be aware that ALS can go FUCK itself. Killed the bravest person any one of us will ever meet. Be aware that if you don’t have ALS you are lucky and maybe pray you stay lucky. RIP Stacy Title.
