A 1.25% pay raise for the hardworking, dedicated and award-winning journalists of Defense News and Military Times is in no way sufficient. Tell @sightlinemedia's CEO Michael Reinstein to come to the table and directly negotiate with our union to produce a fair contract.
Two weeks ago, we sent our CEO Michael Reinstein this letter asking him to come to the table to negotiate directly with us. We received no response, so are releasing it publicly. We renew our call for direct negotiations with our CEO to produce a fair and equitable contract. 1/2

Saturday marked one year since Sightline Media Group unjustly laid off 9 reporters and editors, including 7 union members. We in @SightlineUnion continue to support our brothers and sisters, and still fight to challenge their layoffs and get them the fair treatment they deserve.

SECDEF Hegseth's decision to gut the Pentagon's weapons testing office and staff was partly motivated by frustration over DOT&E's decision to conduct oversight of prized Golden Dome project. Great scoop by Courtney Albon, new on @defense_news @calbon defensenews.com/pentagon/2025/…
Formal response from the Pentagon Press Association.
Sensitive/classified areas behind locked doors that require badges to access. Anyone who has passed DoD background checks can get a building pass and stand outside any door in the Pentagon. Only one group of people who has passed these checks is being singled out.

...more than enough time, but we were ignored. So we filed another ULP with NLRB. Once again, we request SMG rescind the in-office mandate and continue the current status quo remote work arrangement, as we have done quite successfully for the past five years. @mortgreenberg
Hi Mort, Steve, Jen, Courtney and Bryant here. Thanks for responding. This is the first we’ve heard from management since we sent a letter to SMG leadership and lawyers on 2/28, asking for you to rescind this in-office mandate. We gave everyone a week to respond, which was... 1/2
@SightlineUnion I applaud your moxy and effort here. But… As you know, running a business is never easy. As you each know, call me, email me, send me your ideas. Happy to always listen and learn. But Anonomous call outs on social media create unnecessary duress for all.
For five years, the journalists of @defense_news and @MilitaryTimes have produced award-winning, collaborative journalism while working remotely. An in-office mandate is unnecessary and improper as we are in the process of negotiating these matters, and it should be rescinded.
Today we filed the latest unfair labor practice charge against @Sightlinemedia protesting the full-time in-office mandate they just dropped. Please retweet this and tell @mortgreenberg, @kellyfacer15 and Regent to rescind this order and bargain with @SightlineUnion in good faith.
I called OSD PA about this as soon as the feed cut out. "That was predetermined," a spokesperson said about the decision to stop broadcasting when questions began.
At Pentagon just now, @SecDef @PeteHegseth promised transparency. Then when questions from the crowd began, the video feed to his town hall was cut to outside viewers, including other Defense Department personnel.
This video was posted to the Defense Department's official page 20 minutes before this post. It's OK to just cover horrible things without main character syndrome

Went to a holiday party yesterday at the home of CSAF Gen Dave Allvin and Mrs Allvin, where a quintet from @AirmenofNote played. All five were killer, but this drum solo with only a snare, single cymbal, and brushes was particularly amazing. Military musicians do not mess around!
