Good news from Rwanda, which announced today that the Marburg outbreak has ended. Rwanda’s effective response, with support including U.S. supplied vaccines, ended the outbreak quickly. We are grateful for the health workers who cared for Marburg patients during the outbreak.
Congratulations to the government of Rwanda and all the partners who have worked together to end this Marburg outbreak – including @CDCglobal, @USAIDGH, and @StateDept. Continued collaboration is needed to prevent, detect, and respond to health security threats like these.
Congratulations to Rwanda for ending the Marburg outbreak. From start to end, the US was honored to work w/ @RwandaHealth + int'l partners to respond quickly and effectively to stop the spread. Together, we were able to #EndMarburg and build greater resilience for the future.
