Nick Kurtz just had one of the greatest games in baseball history. 6 for 6 with four home runs, six runs and eight RBIs. He is a 22-year-old rookie.
Nick Kurtz just hit his fourth homer of the game. He’s the first rookie in baseball history with four homers in a game. What a night. What a player.
Per Elias: Mike Tauchman taking Chris Flexen deep was the first home run ever hit by an ex-Cubs batter off an ex-White Sox pitcher, or vice-versa, in a matchup of the two Chicago teams.

Only reason I could see the Yankees passing on Suarez and pivoting to McMahon would be that they are saving their higher-rated prospects for a move to bolster the pitching staff
Big game tonight for the #Angels if they have any chance of making a push at the playoffs, but it may be too late. They are 5.5 GB and another loss to a team ahead of them could do it if it hasn’t already. I think if they lose tonight we see them sell.

Most extra-base hits in an A's player's first 65 career games (since 1901): Nick Kurtz (2025) - 38 Nap Lajoie (1901) - 37
A note about today’s game: Jake Cronenworth will set a new Padres record for starts at second base. This will be Cronenworth’s 431st start at second base for the Padres.
In St. Louis for four.
Hear me out…I don’t think Charlie Morton is a terrible deadline acquisition for ANY club. Since May 10th, he’s posted a 3.53 ERA over 63.2 IP. More K’s than IP. Crafty vet.
Charlie Morton has been linked to the #Padres in trade rumors. Here’s my piece evaluating the fit and what he would bring to the Padres⬇️

Tyson Neighbors has not allowed a run in the month of July, tossing 10 innings with 11 strikeouts. Yet another relief demon in the Padres' system.
