Justice For App Workers
@StandWithJFAW
Working for fair wages, better benefits, and safe working conditions for Uber and Lyft drivers & delivery workers across NY, IL, & beyond. #JusticeForAppWorkers
The memorial is over, but our movement continues on. We will keep fighting until no more workers are lost in the line of duty.

For many people, summertime means rest. For us, it means brutal traffic, longer hours, and higher gas prices. We’re proud of what we do, but we deserve better while we do it.

It could feel as hot as 105 degrees today in New York City 🌡 We drive through dangerous heat without breaks, shade, or protections. We’re demanding heat safety measures now!

Our new Executive Paywatch report is here, and greedy CEOs are back at it again. Top CEOs now make 285x what workers make and take home an average of $18.9 MILLION per YEAR in total compensation. Read our full Paywatch Report: aflcio.org/paywatch
NY Drivers: Say NO to driverless cars on our streets. These vehicles are already causing problems, and now they’re threatening over 100,000 driver jobs! Governor Hochul, Mayor Adams, and the City Council must act before it’s too late. Sign the petition: bit.ly/NoDriverlessCa…
App work can be isolating. Driving, delivering, waiting—we do it all alone. We’re proud that as a result of our organizing, tens of thousands of us in NY now have access to mental healthcare. But we won’t stop until every app worker across the country has that right.

We rely on our jobs to survive. When an app shuts us out without warning or explanation, it’s not just about ratings. It’s about our rent, our groceries, our livelihoods. That’s why we’re calling for an end to unfair deactivations without due process now!

With outside temperatures on the rise, now is the time to make sure employers are taking the steps necessary to protect workers from heat stress and heat-related illness. Read more about workplace strategies for hot weather safety here: bit.ly/4lmpzIK
Last month’s TLC vote to approve a pay raise and lockout protections for drivers in NYC proves that organizing works. Let’s keep the momentum going for safety protections, unionization rights, and justice for every app worker.

We get New Yorkers to work, school, and appointments. We bring food and essentials home to their families. We are a part of the fabric of this city, and it’s time we’re treated like it!

A protest caravan will take to the streets, calling for safer working conditions for rideshare and delivery drivers. pix11.com/news/morning/p…
We deserve to have protections and flexibility. That’s why our members are fighting for: ✅ Higher rates per ride/delivery to keep up with expenses ✅Protections against violence on the job ✅ The right to form a union to have a voice and negotiate for pay and benefits we deserve

We are devastated to learn that last week, a fellow rideshare driver in Ohio was shot six times on the job by two passengers she had just picked up. How many more of us have to be hurt—or killed—before change comes? cleveland19.com/2025/07/18/ube…

We have the votes we need to pass the Protect America’s Workforce Act in the House of Representatives. And we have a new way to get this bill to a vote. Click to make a call to your representative or dial 844-994-4554 to get started. 👇 act.aflcio.org/call_campaigns…
🙏 Thank you to everyone who came out to IDG Family Day this past weekend! What a beautiful day of music, food, family fun, and driver appreciation.
Some days, we’re out on the roads during heatwaves, storms, and other extreme conditions, because we can’t afford to stay home. We’re fighting for a world where no one has to choose between their safety and their paycheck.

Drivers only have 5 minutes to pick up/drop off riders and pull away from the bus lane before we can be ticketed. This is NOT enough time for us to safely serve passengers. Sign our petition to stop unfair regulations that harm our jobs and communities! actionnetwork.org/petitions/sign…

While the city heads out for their weekend plans, we’re still out here working. 🌆 Rideshare and delivery workers keep New York moving 365 days a year. This is our city too. It’s time we’re treated like it!

We don’t always know what we’ll make at the end of the day, and sometimes it’s just not enough. Our industry relies on worker uncertainty—and we’re demanding better.
