It brings me no pleasure to report that I've written a reflection on New Atheism in the year of our Lord 2025
Every worldview has to face the problem of suffering. But which one gives the best answer? In The Brothers Karamazov, Dostoyevsky takes it head on. We might flinch. But he doesnโt. Hereโs what he says about it๐งต
โoddly touching obtusenessโ Say what you will of Hart, his command of prose and precision of diction are beyond dispute.
"I hasten to add. In my experience, the members of that sad and theologically aberrant faction, ... suffer from an oddly touching obtuseness with regard to moral judgments" David Bently Hart on the Thomists. davidbentleyhart.substack.com/p/notes-on-natโฆ

From Henry Sidgwick, The Methods of Ethics, 7th edition, Book III, Chapter 11:
It's been more than two years, and @NaturalismPanth's contemporary case for Atheism still remains undefeated. People can talk about a "Christian Revival" all they want, but it means nothing until the best versions of Atheism are addressed and engaged with by apologists.
*โ๏ธNEW CASE AGAINST THEISM JUST DROPPEDโ๏ธ* My long-awaited post outlining my reasons for atheism is finally complete. I have put my effort into this post than anything else on the blog, by far, so I hope you all enjoy it! naturalismnext.blogspot.com/2022/12/why-imโฆ
Here is your reminder to read Berserk if you havenโt yet. Masterpiece
This is the modern version of Diogenes using a plucked chicken to refute Platoโs definition of a man as a featherless biped. Not only is it a troll argument through and through, but it also goes a good distance in accomplishing what it sets out to do. โBehold, I have hands!โ
If you ever think you are bad at philosophy just remember G.E. Moore published this:
There is no god.
If you were going to go on the "one guy who's kind of decent at arguing debates 20 morons" show, what point would you argue with the morons?
I maintain with Aquinas that the best two arguments for atheism are the problem of evil and that you can explain everything without God; I differ from him because I think the latter argument is more powerful than the former. Likely a minority who thinks so.
Maybe the real client list was the Presidents we made along the way.
