Very pround to be part of this new paper! Welcome #Huaxiazhoulong , the largest ankylosaurid known from China!

Milan Giant Rostrum Spinosaurus cf. aegyptiacus MSNM V4047

Ok… so the cat is out of the bag and I can FINALLY start talking about this. I just confirmed with Tim I can say that I did a lot of concept art, like this baby Spinosaurus, for the new docuseries #SurvivingEarth coming out in 2026! So excited for you guys to see this!
Ok Now I do forgive'em for the delay
FIRST LOOK AT BABY SPINOSAURUS FROM SURVIVING EARTH VIA IMPOSSIBLE PICTURES ACCOUNT Art by @SerpenIllus
Buried in the Sahara, Nat Geo explorer Paul Sereno and his team uncovered 55 tons of dinosaur fossils—including a Spinosaurus skull and one of Africa's earliest giant predators. These finds are helping rewrite the story of prehistoric life in Africa. 🔗 on.natgeo.com/4nPKCFF
This is also evident when you look at other hadrosaurs with preserved rhamphothecae, such as the Senckenberg Mummy. It's not a planar spade on only part of the premaxilla's front edge - it wraps around it like a spoon. Photographs by Etemenanki3, Wikimedia Commons, CC BY.
They wisely find the right people to do these right things. I can see Surviving Earth will be one of the best paleo-docu of all time.
Oh wow they also got Mauricio Anton to work on Surviving Earth too This is gonna be peak paleo media of 2026 fr fr
If you've seen some of my recent posts, you'll know I've had sauropods on the brain. With that in mind, here's a nugget of data from our recent study on dinosaur body size: our "preferred isometric" mass estimates for a selection of sauropods that came out as more than 20 tonnes!
Published today in Biological Reviews: "New perspectives on body size and shape evolution in dinosaurs" - the biggest paper from my PhD (my favourite chapter, too). doi.org/10.1111/brv.70… Here's a thread outlining some of our key findings. (1/10)
I've seen that many in the community use skeletal diagrams and anatomical references without regard for the original artists' rights. Consequently, I've updated my website's usage page to clarify my stance on the usage of these materials. thecodontia.com/licensingpage
Seeing a Rhino with its horn complete and intact is rare.
Temnodontosaurus flipper: How the story began In 2017, I received an email from fossil collector Georg Göltz with photos of a peculiar fossil. He was aware that my research focus was on marine reptiles, so he wrote that he had found something unusual. 1/9 #FossilFriday #Germany
never thought that there would be a day when someone materialize David Peters's skeletal so serious like this...
Meet Promerycochoerus! This oreodont was a strange piglike creature, and was likely very social and engaged in intraspecific violence. More information on them coming soon!
Oh BOY! Story time! All the way back in 2016, on our way back from Munich for a EAVP meeting, @dinosven got a mail by Georg Göltz, attached were some first images of an incredible specimen. That evening we went over the material again and again...
wanna do this but I've been fucking busy recently 😭😭😭
Oh woah -- this fossil looks extraordinary. Shri rapax, a new, Mongolian, #Velociraptor-like dromaeosaurid with robust hands and indications of a powerful bite. tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10… #dinosaurs #Cretaceous
everyone should check it out if you don't have time to digest the original paper
The fact that a couple folks in the replies (and this is NOT a judgement of them) were not necessarily under the impression that non-bird dinos could vocalize at all tells me we fumbled a bit in how we sci-commed the topic of non-avian dinosaur vocalization.🧵
And before I crash for the night, here's a reminder that Tyrannosaurus and its close kin were bizarre animals. To be fair though, all dinosaurs are bizarre and incredible in their own right- I just have a massive bias towards hadrosaurs. Magna should be done tomorrow as well!
Every Sebecoid yet known! (list on replies) these very enigmatic crocodylomorphs somehow survived the asteroid that killed non-avian dinosaurs and became the dominant predators in many cenozoic ecosystems here i present a specimen guide and size comp for each named taxon!
Estoy nervioso. Le he quitado el polvo a la gacela dorcas y ya se puede descargar en nexus
