Marine Vet | Ret. NYPD Sgt | Proudly Representing the people of State Senate District 17
Thanks for stopping by today, Ari! We're happy to have you and the summer interns from Senator Chan. Hope to see you again soon!
July 27th marks the anniversary of the armistice that brought an end to the Korean War. Often called “The Forgotten War,” it is anything but forgotten in our hearts. Today, we honor the brave soldiers who served and the sacrifices they made so their courage is always remembered.

Remember the case where a 90-year-old was killed by a moped driver in Sheepshead Bay; the suspect was finally caught. Thank you, NYPD! The driver is facing several charges, including leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and operating a vehicle without a license.

FYI: CLOSURE OF ENTRANCE RAMP FROM 86th STREET TO EASTBOUND GOWANUS EXPRESSWAY (I-278) IN BROOKLYN. Friday, July 25, through Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 10 p.m. each night and continuing through 6 a.m. the following mornings.

The driver of the car that killed two people, three months ago, she was charged in a Brooklyn crash where she struck a 22-year-old pedestrian, injuring her face, neck, and shoulder. Despite this, she was released without bail under NYC’s bail reform laws. NO ACCOUNTABILITY!

Also today, our interns, accompanied by Advisor Ari Kagan, had the opportunity to sit down with Marnee Elias-Pavia, District Manager, CB 11! Thanks again for having us!

Here I am again in Sunset Park, 3 days after a fatal hit-and-run in Sheepshead Bay. 52 street. 2 pedestrians mowed down in yet another fatal hit and run. I hope this is a wakeup call for other representatives to finally ban off-road vehicles on our roads.

Check out my comments on the Hit-and-Run and killing of the 90-year-old yesterday. All because of a moped. And to no one's surprise, this isn't the first case of mopeds endangering people. nysenate.gov/newsroom/press…
I went to the 61st precinct in regards to yet another senseless death involving these mopeds. It's not my district but it sure as heck is my community! All of NY is my community! I worked out of that building for 15 years. I'll be on CBS at 11PM!
TOMORROW: From 11 am-3 pm, Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH) staff will help answer questions about summons and hearings. Ulmer Park Library: 2602 Bath Avenue at 26th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11214

On this July 4th, we celebrate 249 years of the red, white, and blue. A land of opportunity and a beacon of freedom abroad. As we commemorate the founding of this great nation, let’s reflect on how lucky we are to call it home.

Heads Up: There is NO collection tomorrow. Trash/Compost Day: Place your material at the curb Friday evening for collection beginning Saturday, July 5. Recycling Day: Hold recyclables, and place at the curb Thursday, July 10 for collection Friday, July 11.

Our office has been made aware of a transport van that crashed into a tree in Bath Beach yesterday. 14 people have been injured but are expected to recover. I want to thank EMS and our first responders for their swift response. abc7ny.com/post/transport…
