A family will be watching the Vikings tonight in the DC area. A mother, a father and a brother. Why this team has meant as much as it has to the Jacksons over what has been the hardest five months of their lives 🕊️: nytimes.com/athletic/60536…
I will also say this: Dallas Turner looks like a flash around the edge. Will continuously be interesting to see where he's lining up, but the sheer explosiveness is almost jarring in person.
Quick thoughts from Day 2 of Vikings training camp: The Brian Flores defense looks revved up, per usual around this time. Disguised looks. Activity from Levi Drake Rodriguez. Lots of Byron Murphy Jr., Isaiah Rodgers and Jeff Okudah. Offensively, a few crisp screens stood out.

Justin Jefferson practiced today but didn’t do a ton at the end. Said he felt some tightness in his legs, but was all smiles afterwards and made a point to say it was only the second day of camp, no reason to push crazily.
Kevin O’Connell and J.J. McCarthy doing some teaching and learning:
Brian Flores asked today if Josh Metellus could play more “traditional” safety. He said yes, but the more relevant was his fixation on the word “traditional” with a wry smile: “I don’t know if that word necessarily fits me.”
The Vikings are wearing the "winter warrior" unis on Christmas at U.S. Bank Stadium against the Lions on Netflix. The only remaining question is: Who's performing at halftime?
Sights and sounds and thoughts from Day 1 of Vikings training camp: nytimes.com/athletic/65119…
What’s Kevin O’Connell’s plan for Vikings training camp? What’s important to him? How will he approach J.J. McCarthy’s ramp up? A peek behind the curtain at the intentionality: nytimes.com/athletic/65095…
Josh Metellus on the Vikings roster: "I'm loving the team. We've got a real deep team. I looked at the depth chart today, and I'm, like, 'Golly.' ... It's going to be a fun year."
Jeff Okudah's nickname is "Jefe," per Josh Metellus of Tell Us With Metellus fame. "I like it. He came in and introduced himself: 'I'm Jeff Okudah, you can call me Jefe.'" "Jefe? I like that. We've got a lot of cool nicknames in the building. Jefe is definitely top 5."
Will have some full thoughts from first day of Vikings training camp, but thought J.J. McCarthy ran the operation very well. What you'd want for a Day 1. Also thought T.J. Hockenson looked great.
J.J. McCarthy just hit Jordan Addison on the go in 7-on-7. Wide open TD. Earned some noise from teammates.
Andrew Van Ginkel just did the pick six thing on the line of scrimmage on the first day. Come on. Brett Rypien tried what you cannot try on the cyborg.
Feels like we’re in a swamp in the Everglades
hey Alec, is the field house air conditioned? The times I've been in there it was pretty warm and humid
J.J. McCarthy spoke this afternoon. Could tell he's ready to get going, to compete. Said it was important to him to orchestrate some of the throwing sessions with teammates the last few weeks. First Vikings practice in less than an hour.
