Official Account of the 12th United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs
VA is challenging the status quo to find new ways of helping Veterans. To that end, we are conducting numerous clinical studies into potential psychedelic-assisted therapies. @RobFinnertyUSA @NEWSMAX
Why do some politicians insist on spreading disinformation that drives Veterans away from @DeptVetAffairs? We are improving and expanding VA care. During the second Trump Administration, VA has opened 13 new health care clinics and the backlog of Veterans waiting for VA benefits…
The VA is firing tens of thousands of employees under pressure from Republicans pushing privatization. That’s a betrayal of our promise to veterans. Gutting staff means longer wait times, worse care, and less trust. I’m fighting to protect the VA—because vets earned it.
Stopped by the @dodwarriorgames this weekend to let the athletes know @DeptVetAffairs will be there for them when they need it. @DeptofDefense @TRADOC
I like to remind @DeptVetAffairs employees that VA is a service organization. The reason we exist is to serve those who have worn the uniform.
Under President Trump, @DeptVetAffairs is providing Veterans with the health care choices they have earned while improving its direct health care capabilities.
We are working to make sure @DeptVetAffairs does a better job reaching Veterans at risk of suicide – especially those who have had no contact with VA. @boldamericanpod
At the 2025 National Veterans #WheelchairGames opening ceremony, we celebrated the athletes, their strength and the incredible resilience of the Veteran community. Thanks to @pva1946 for co-hosting.

Great news: The backlog of Veterans waiting for @DeptVetAffairs benefits is down 30%!

Excellent to hear, Laura! Thank you. Great work, @VAHouston and @VAPugetSound!
My husband and I thank the VA. He is a brain cancer survivor. We got all his treatment through Houston VA and his Stem Cell Transplant at Puget Sound VA Bone Marrow Unit in Seattle va.gov/houston-health…
Veterans who have experienced a natural disaster: you are not alone. @DeptVetAffairs has specialized support systems to assist those who have served our nation during their time of need. Learn more: news.va.gov/132965/disaste…
VA’s electronic health record upgrade was nearly dormant for almost two years under the Biden Administration. Now we’re on track to get the system up and running at 13 new sites next year. @cherylcasone @FoxBusiness
Thanks to the MISSION Act, Veterans can get health care close to home and on their terms – at @DeptVetAffairs or in the community. @TheElizMitchell @DailySignal
.@DeptVetAffairs should have never been in the business of providing gender dysphoria treatment. @TheElizMitchell @DailySignal
We’ve been working hard to reduce @DeptVetAffairs bureaucracy and improve services to Veterans. There is more work to be done, but we're on the right track. @cherylcasone @FoxBusiness
Houston VA was honored to host VA Secretary Doug Collins today. The VA Secretary met with our dedicated leadership team and had the opportunity to visit the Houston VA Operating Room, where he experienced firsthand our new state-of-the-art surgical robot technology. #HoustonVA
.@SecVetAffairs: Over the last four years, we had an increase in personnel, an increase in money… but yet wait times for our patients went up… our workforce is about serving veterans — our workforce is NOT about increasing government payrolls.
A few weeks ago, @PattyMurray was spreading ridiculous lies that VA would turn away unmarried Veterans. Now she’s at it again, claiming our reforms are hurting VA’s performance. Nope. The backlog of Vets waiting for benefits is down nearly 30% since Jan. 20. Once again, stop…
Doug Collins & Trump want you to believe that pushing out 30,000 VA employees is a win for veterans. DOGE cuts at VA were thoughtless, harmful, and the very definition of inefficient. They won't help. Just admit your mistake and work with us to make VA work better for veterans.
