Childless Cat Lady for Trump. Got mixed up in the family business at 58. Wheat is my favorite crop. My father's daughter. No one worked harder than my Mom.
Nice sign, huh? But apparently the town spent so much on it and landscaping they don't have money to replace the badly faded US flag. @yovic7 @kenjwilliams

This AM, after viewing The Wall That Heals, we drove through the JB National Cemetery. We saw groundskeepers in action keeping it looking perfect, with military-like precision. In this heat, that can't be easy. Thank you for everyone's work. @DeptVetAffairs

If you go to CBPs feed, you will be absolutely terrified over what they are finding travelers trying to bring into this country that could hurt our food supply. No one w/ good intentions travels w/ maggots and larvae. Why isn't this a bigger story?
"To fight the bug, we must understand the bug." CBP agriculture specialists in Detroit found fresh cherries infested with European cherry fruit fly maggots and larvae. The traveler who had the infested cherries was headed to Door County, Wisconsin, a major cherry growing area.…
If you have a helicopter spraying your corn and you need to use my property to park the semi and fill the helicopter: hey, just let me know first. It would be the neighborly thing to do. Just sayin'.
The most annoying thing about the faded US flag: it's across the street from the Monroe County courthouse. It doesn't take an intergovernmental agt for SOMEONE in there, anyone, to make a phone call to the right person. I don't know who, I bet the County does. @DozzzzzEric
I once told a Bank of America branch mgr that if they couldn't keep a nice, clean US flag on their flagpole they should just take down the pole. He said he didn't even notice the flag--he had to walk by it a few times a day. I don't get that. It's OUR FLAG. @yovic7 @kenjwilliams
Over $5B in unemployment fraud, IL prisoners received COVID PPP payments, now $705m penalty for SNAP errors - that's nearly the entire amount of tax increases in FY26 budget. Pritzker can't handle the position. thecentersquare.com/illinois/artic…
Good one. Matt Taibbi invoking a St. Louisan, Ike Turner. You don't hear/see that name much these days. This is totally off the subject, but a DJ on KDHX used to say he wanted to hear Ike's side of the story.
“John Brennan’s careful investigative work” is in the same league as “Ike Turner’s sensitivity to women”
Is it just me? I tossed the last @Prairie_Farmer magazine, it was all "Trump/Tariffs/Trump/Tariffs." The July issue actually has useful information.
This is wild. My parents were pretty involved parents. They took me to Wal-Mart, got a bunch of stuff for my dorm room, hugged me, and left. There were just so many fewer ways to hover without the Internet. I had to figure most things out after they left. That was the norm.
My wife is in the University of Arkansas Facebook group for moms of incoming freshman. I convinced her to send me this screenshot, but there are so many more absolutely ridiculous questions like this. Some of these kids (and their moms) aren't going to make it. 😂
After seeing The Wall That Heals, it was good to have a chance to visit briefly the permanent museums at JB Park which have displays relevant to the history of JB and other military history. They are a treasure.@yovic7 @kenjwilliams
It was great to meet @yovic7 and @kenjwilliams this AM at the Wall that Heals. I hope everyone can leave time to see the exhibits when you visit, especially artifacts left at the Wall. They are personal and extremely moving.
Saw The Wall That Heals this AM at JB Park. Can't say enough about the experience. And the volunteers who helped us, they were knowledgeable and helpful, even made sure we had water! @VVMF
I am sick to death of local media. They can't look at crime and blame Democrat policies, but they can look at a heat wave and blame farmers. @yovic7 @kenjwilliams
I was just thinking yesterday, where is the annual KSDK "corn sweat" story? Last year, they were late, the corn had already turned. I guess the 20 yr old running the newsroom has learned something. But not much. @Srm67 @DozzzzzEric
For a few weeks the car wash in town has had a sign up, "Rain, Rain, Go Away." Hello? It's a FARM town, in JULY, in SOUTHERN Illinois. We've been PRAYING for rain. Heck, everyone's grass is scrub brush brown. The guy hasn't noticed?
You ever go so long between rains that when it finally comes, you wake up in the middle of the night and think, "What is that noise? Is the house on fire?" @DozzzzzEric @Srm67
The coolest thing about this being on X is most farmers are too busy to even know what's up w/ the WNBA (if they even know it exists) and they'd never care what those brats said about anything. Even if they had the time to care.

You wouldn't know it by looking at it, but there's a no-till drill in the shed (that opens to the south) must be the coolest place on the farm. It's 97° and a cat is laying on it. I'm about ready to push him over and take over that spot.
Now I know what I have to do if the farm needs rain (and we really need it). I have to leave the farm for the day and leave some windows open on the house. It's an old-fashioned trick in these days of AC, but I am happy it still works.
