It's scary to think some areas are considering alternatives to district nurses to cut costs and having instead "community charge nurses".
Our Integrated Leeds model for Intermediate care for people experiencing homelessness has won a Quality in care award. Huge congratulations to all our partners and those we serve who we learn from everyday
Proud to have been a part of this and to see it published after all the hard work gone into creating it @Sarah_R_Ellison @SamSherrington @RodKersh

So proud of our community teams @NCICNHS for going above and beyond to keep patients and themselves safe and cared for over the last 24hrs during the storm. Working in the community is not easy at the best of times, let alone trying to reach patients in gusts of 100mph winds 💙
Being one of the contributors to this must-have book of wisdom for district nurses, I was very pleased when my complementary copy arrived on my doorstep yesterday. This is another legacy of @SamSherrington & a testament to her inclusive leadership... Have you got your copy??
"I would absolutely encourage staff, and members of the public, to get involved in the discussion. This is your chance to say what it is that is really important to you" - Sam Sherrington, Regional Deputy Director Strategy & Transformation Have your say➡️ change.nhs.uk
The RCN's report makes very difficult reading and highlights the challenges the NHS, and nurses, are facing with increasing levels of demand resulting in patients being treated in corridors.
The experiences of nurses and patients are harrowing to read in the report published by @theRCN today and to be clear, this is not the position any of us working in the NHS think is acceptable.
