@imVkohli @BCCI I still hope that Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan and Washington Sundar are picked for SA tests. It will be another blunder like WT20. Nobody to bat at 7. Can't trust Pujara, Rahane, Ishant & Saha in SA. Even Mayank & Shreyas have issues vs pace, bounce & swing.
Will I watch Ind vs Pak Asia Cup match, if it is played? Of course, I would and support Ind. Should Ind have participated in the Asia Cup? IMO, No, it's too close to the mini-war we have had. Needed more time to pass. Can both opinions, co-exist? Yes.
Asif used the wobble in some 2005 itself and S Clark in the 2006 Ashes. Drs is a factor - lbw. It came into play during the later half of his career, although not in India. SLAs, in particular, have taken advantage of it big time - spin-friendly decks. Comparatively, more…
I guess KP didn’t have to play the wobble ball apart from when facing MA
Me too. Especially, spin at pace where you can't use your feet and have to play from the crease. x.com/Fancricket12/s…
The real brahmastra for a modern-day fan should be the Drs. Even more than the pitches in Test cricket. It has made batting much tougher on spin-friendly decks v SLA and to an extent the offie. I come from an era when a batter used to take a decent stride v spin and get the…

Clearly a case of recency bias even for the fans!
Even though I (and many others) call Kohli as Ind's Ponting - given their demeanor and absolute will to win--similar peaks and declines-Ponting was better than Kohli. Better player of spin (except Bhajji in Ind), better player of swing & seam, nearly equivalent vs pace & bounce..
They needed a role for Will Ospreay.. x.com/whatonnetflix/…
🚨 It’s official – Assassin’s Creed has been greenlit to series at Netflix! From Ubisoft’s iconic franchise, the series will explore the war between two factions shaping humanity’s future, with Roberto Patino and David Wiener as showrunners. More: whats-on-netflix.com/news/assassins…
Ever since Ganguly singlehandedly won that ODI series vs Pak in Toronto '97, the PR and sentiment he has among the journalists is unmatchable. They easily forget what a poor job he did as BCCI President.. x.com/wmakarand/stat…
It's time Sourav Ganguly takes over the Indian team. After the match fixing controversy it was Ganguly who changed the face of Indian cricket. Indian cricket is in a terrible mess. If India loses this series coaching staff, selectors should be sacked. Dada Ganguly must take over
Saab ji, Boland had already played some 100 FC games by the time of his Test debut. He comes from an era where he ended up bowling on some flat decks at the MCG. So, at least in AUS, he knows how to bowl across conditions. Yes, Indian pacers take more time to mature. Yes, some…
How does someone like a Boland bowl like a pro from his first few matches? Is our domestic structure so out of touch with the reality of international cricket?
I mean setting bowling plans for individual batters too as well as general bowling plans.
Our batters have shown admirable resistance in this Eng tour. The fast bowling needs a lot of improvement. We should be fine (actually, we would be the best test team in the world) if that happens. So, not just identify pacers, find good coaches at diff. levels too, IMO.
Wasn’t SA the first to get him out with just short of length outside off (and SLA) in that 2018 series? It was overshadowed by the incident.
Eh nobody says YK was ugly. The real reason is that he's Pakistani. If you belong to Pak, SL, SA or NZ, your achievements won't get the same hype as players from Ind/Eng/Aus.
The reasons for Younis Khan being underrated as a test batter : 1. Aesthetics (acc. to many, he looked ugly) 2. Him being a mediocre ODI bat (people slightly mixing formats while judging) -- at least Mahela was magnificent ODI WC SF & F-- feeling of underachievement in his case.
Another day, another reminder, when Stokes is fully bowling fit, he is a better cricketer than Anderson and Root.
Steven Smith went through two years of no one thinking they could ever get him out, and of teams thinking that aiming at his stumps was futile. No other batter in my lifetime has reduced bowlers to that kind of hopelessness.
Getting the cheat sheet out really early for reactionary management (and fan base) who have knee jerk reactions to outcomes game to game: Akash and skidders real handy at Edgebaston, Prasidh very good pick for Old Trafford, Manchester gives very good value to HTD bowling
Think folks need to start differentiating between bowling option depth and bowling quality depth. It’s the lack of the second one that India are facing here and there are no quick massive fixes, although they don’t help themselves, sure.
What a lovely day. 3rd consecutive test series loss and this comes on top of that. @BCCI great way to spit on fans
