Yo! I’m taking on a new role @PostSports to cover national sports features. I’m stoked for this new challenge. What do you want to hear about?
WaPo should honor Dan’s incredible run by reprinting this as a commemorative issue:
Well. Tomorrow is my last day at The Washington Post. It’s been a total thrill.
Going thru boxes from my parents. Still remember reading this in my room as a kid. Feinstein was a giant.

Just want to stress to readers out there that while we hear your concern about all the changes to our print paper, we on the Metro desk are not going anywhere and remain committed to the mission of local news.
DC @MayorBowser calls @washingtonpost decision to kill Metro section “stunning & unfortunate” “a lot of very important local news our residents like to be informed of. I feel very sad for the staff. I’m also not clear. They really know where the paper is going.” @nbcwashington
We polled each DC council member on the specific changes they are pushing to make to the RFK Stadium deal. Mendelson said he would aim to hold a vote on the deal "as soon as possible" after a public hearing, which was set yesterday for July 29 & July 30. washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2025/…
This is a rip-roaring, fascinating look at a guy who's trying to upend the NFL insider game -- and doesn't really care what traditional journalism ethics say, featuring @colincowherd, @keyshawn, @RapSheet @Money23Green washingtonpost.com/sports/2025/06…
What should we make of an NFL insider who hosted one star player at his home, vacationed with another, sent expensive gifts to league executives and got in the most famous Starbucks confrontation in NFL insider history?
Here it is! Who the Wizards could take at No. 6 (or in the general vicinity if they make a trade). For each prospect: - An overview of strengths and weaknesses - The key question that will define their career - A look at their fit with the Wizards washingtonpost.com/sports/2025/06…
Thanks, Varun! Saw you grinding tape in the office the other day. Excited for your analysis of who the Wiz take!

On video with @Sam4TR aka “Sammy Swole” aka Sammy Tik Tok. The role of luck in the Commanders’ success; Jayden Daniels’ trust in his targets and how That helps. Much more. @ESPNRichmond youtu.be/4xHT6XXOPkE
Joined by @sam4tr on his departure tour: talking the role of ‘luck’ in the Commanders’ success last season (listen before commenting. I know, silly concept); led to a discussion on Jayden Daniels and the trust he places in teammates. More. @ESPNRichmond podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/joh…
Luck is an interesting concept. Washington got good breaks last year for sure, but I think people sleep on the importance of Dave Gardi and how the Commanders prep for late game situations. Also, Jayden.
“Do you believe in luck?” I asked an offensive lineman. “I believe in 5,” he said. washingtonpost.com/sports/2025/06…
Before the Nationals lost their eighth straight game, Dave Martinez said he talked to his players. He also said his comments weren’t directed at them. But one source said players were “shocked, dismayed and pissed.” More about Saturday’s comments: washingtonpost.com/sports/2025/06…
WR Noah Brown is getting an MRI this afternoon, Dan Quinn said. He declined to specify what injury Brown suffered at practice Wednesday.

He went down during 7v7. Threw his helmet after being helped to the sideline.
Commanders WR Noah Brown is being carted off the field.
RB Brian Robinson looks “really healthy,” Dan Quinn said, and he saw the speed and agility in one specific cut Tuesday. “He’s had a good offseason,” he added, which Robinson knows is key in a contract year.
