How old were you when you realized authority figures do not have your best interests in mind?
Characters - particularly the main character - are the most important thing for me, whether it be my own stuff or stuff I enjoy. To me, a setting is just a vehicle for a plot, and a plot is just a vehicle for characters.
I could see how this wouldn’t be the best approach for a play, short story, or screenwriting where the premise and the plot are more important in a shorter time frame. But in a series, like comic books or television, things more character centric, seems to be how most do it.
this is so pathetic and embarrassing and the women who use this should be sentenced to a lifetime of singleness
Tea is now the number one app on the App Store Tea is a women-only app where users anonymously share info and warnings about men to spot red flags and get feedback.
What does “working class” even mean anymore? This definition excludes kindergarten teachers and nurses but includes people who own restaurants. I thought Marxists weren’t supposed to confuse cultural relations with class ones.
I’ll never take movie fans seriously when they say shit like “comic fans will never be satisfied unless it’s a 1:1 adaptation” when these exist
The point of the movies is to shut up and stare forward for two hours. If you need another person to do that, I don’t know how you even function alone lol
Is it weird/pathetic to go see a movie by yourself
Such industrial-scale intrasexual sabotage should be considered a crime against humanity and I’m only half joking

Why do i keep seeing this happen? A: You philosophers really need to learn more science, so you won't believe stupid things like x B: Why's that? A: Because [woefully abysmal argument against x with super naive philosophical assumptions]
I feel so bad for anyone who tried to get into this show by watching seasons ONE and TWO and thought they’d be ok without context
As an American Millennial I don’t remember a good decade
I’m afraid it is going to be a very bad decade here in the US.
Seriously is mightily uncomfortable how many people claim to be leftist and then advocate for censorship because instead of "D&D makes you worship the devil" or "vidya game cause violence" it's "icky weird kinky sex shit in media makes you a sex offender"
“I want everyone’s basic needs to be met” vs “I want people different from me to be dead” These people are so fuckin dumb lmao
In all seriousness, can someone explain to me why being a fascist is unacceptable, but openly being a communist is perfectly fine?
Obviously this is a stupid oversimplification, but basically every bad and reactionary thing that’s happening right now is because there’s an enormous USSR-shaped vacuum in global politics.
The whole nagging culture has ruined films. They either have to be perfect and fit their agenda or they are trash and will be nitpicked for minimal bullshit
Anyway, everyone should watch this timeless classic. Throw this on before you continue consuming slop that is rotting the part of your brain that decides whether you like something or not. youtu.be/ELEAsGoP-5I?si…
Notice how every single unfunny platform and the morons that champion them use the same “but it’s satire” excuse. At some point you have to acknowledge that “satire” is not a safety net that absolves you of criticism and acknowledge your responsibility to your audience. But…
CinemaSins has done irreparable damage to the general public and has turned the average movie-goer into the most annoying person you know and if I ever see Jeremy in the street I’m smacking the soul patch off his stupid fucking face.
Dear comic book movie fans. You cannot evacuate 11 million people out of a city in 10 minutes. That is all.
Rather than saying whether art should be "uncomfortable" or "transgressive," it's more honest and valuable to ask if art is allowed to be hateful, mean-spirited, or cruel. The answer to that is yes, but eliminates the air of needless moralizing.
I find it kinda funny when people have these super-specific scores with decimals for things. Like why is that thing an 8.4 and not an 8.5? It’s so silly. The simpler the rating scale the better.
No one is more directly responsible for the Donald Trump presidency than Hillary Clinton.
Like Hillary or not, I want to pay tribute to her. She was the first to warn us that trump would be chaos. Would you like to thank her by putting a 💙?
