Over the past few months, I’ve travelled across Ontario listening to our members. I have heard about your hopes, frustrations, and ideas for what comes next. I’m grateful to each and every one of you who showed up, spoke up, and shared honestly. Your voices are shaping our path…
“With the government's apparent focus on repurposing surplus schools across the province, and community colleges asking for new opportunities, it should have been easy for Ontario to find a partner to relaunch the OSC's esteemed Science School.” thestar.com/news/gta/ontar…

Earlier this week, I met with @Metrolinx to receive a briefing on the Lakeshore East corridor. I asked when we could expect the Express GO Train to return. Unfortunately, no new information or commitments were made. Express service was supposed to return in Summer 2024 but there…

Today, I am hearing from local representatives, advocates, and experts in Whitby at the Standing Committee on Heritage, Infrastructure and Cultural Policy regarding Bill 9, the Municipal Accountability Act. This legislation is an important step toward ensuring integrity in…

As the MPP for Ajax, I stand in solidarity with Tamil-Canadians in our community and across Ontario as we remember Black July and the lives lost, displaced, and changed by the violence of 1983. We must continue to listen to the stories of survivors, support justice and…
Per-student funding for college students in Ontario is 1/3rd the average of other provinces. We’re dead last by a lot. Colleges are in crisis, eliminating 600 programs and laying off 10,000 staff to just stay afloat. Premier Ford needs to invest in Ontario’s 24 public colleges…
The Ford govt laid off 40 Ontario workers and paid $28 million to a company not from Canada that was planning on using AI/ChatGPT responses (with incorrect info) and won’t confirm where the employees are based. So much for customer service excellence.

I recently read a CBC article outlining concerns about Schedule 8 of Bill 10. After hearing similar concerns from the Kingston Rental Property Owners Association, I wrote to Attorney General @douglasdowney asking for clarity on the subsection’s potential impacts. #onpoli #ygk
Thank you @Rob4Ajax for visiting Luke’s Place and meeting with our leadership team! We discussed our vital work supporting women and children subjected to IPV, our future vision, and introduced our new Executive Director, Lily Pourzand.
I’m tired of this crap. I’ve been involved at the grassroots level of @OntLiberal for the past 15 years and have always been open and honest about my thoughts and how we build a member driven party. The last campaign had its issues and the seat result wasn’t what we wanted but…
NEW: @beynate fires a salvo at @BonnieCrombie as @OntLiberal leadership review heats up. #onpoli thestar.com/politics/provi…
Instead of pointing fingers, the Ford govt could lead & lower the cost of a new home by: -Rebate HST on sales under $1-1.5 million -Take the land transfer tax off new homes (it hasn’t been transferred before) -Reduce DCs & make municipalities whole They’re all talk, no action.
NEW: The Ford government is accusing Ontario’s major towns and cities of “sitting” on billions of unspent dollars amidst a growing housing crisis, telling them the money should be used to reduce the cost of building. #OnPoli globalnews.ca/news/11293189/…
We welcome the $1B investment to modernize Canada’s steel sector and $70M for worker retraining. Ontario steel is vital to our economy. We must protect it—by growing our share of Canadian markets, finding new buyers abroad, and securing a fair deal with the U.S. #onpoli
Canada’s steel industry will be central to our competitiveness, security, and prosperity. Today we’re making big changes to support, reinforce, and transform the industry to meet the needs of tomorrow.
Originally I was only worried about saving the Ontario Science Centre building because of its importance in the history of Canadian architecture. I now also worry about saving the institution itself which seems to be having an identity crisis regarding its purposes & audiences.
PSWs are so important to families and our community. Thank you for sharing this heartfelt appreciation post @Mikeggibbs. We need to support and build up home care and ensure PSWs are supported by agencies and government in every way.
The stress and pressure on Mom is immense. I'm feeling overwhelmed trying to support her with Dad's care. So I want to make a special mention of Dad's Homecare PSW, Ola. He's gone above and beyond the call of duty to help us with the limited time he has in his packed schedule.
This is getting ridiculous. It’s almost like Ford & Co are trying to starve the Science Centre. We are a big province and there are lots of underutilized schools or post-secondary campuses where this could have taken place. @SaveOSC thestar.com/news/gta/ontar…

Ford campaigned as the “man with a plan” to Protect Ontario. But 695,000 Ontarians can’t find work & Windsor has the highest unemployment rate in the country. Either Ford’s plan isn’t working or he never had one. The moment requires leadership, not showmanship. #onpoli

Hey Doug I fixed your video. Thought you'd want to include your record of voting AGAINST a tax cut for small businesses. Twice! You could have put up to $18k/year in tax savings back in the pocket of small businesses—but instead you went for a photo op. #onpoli
