The eukaryotic tRNA chaperone La impacts tRNA modification levels (queuosine and others). Interesting because in procaryotes, tRNA modif enzymes themselves are thought to be chaperones. In both cases, there seems to be a link between modif and chaperones. academic.oup.com/nar/article/53…
We attended the 26th Annual meeting of RNA society of Japan in Sendai. Wondetful meeting as always and thank you organizers! A phD student and a postdoc from my lab presented their research.

Visited Osaka for a research grant report session and stopped by Osaka University. Taro Okamoto’s Tower of the Sun, the symbol of Osaka Expo ’70, was far larger and more striking than I had imagined (as alwasys)...

The previous photo of Dr. Chujo had the face partially cut off, so here's a better one.
It was a pleasure to have RNA biology seminar, share scientific time with Dr. Saito (NIG), Dr. Wei (Tohoku Uni), Dr. Chujo (@RNAbiker), and Dr. Rujuan Liu (ShanghaiTech Uni). Thank you all — and also Nono and Tom(@SuzukiRNALab) — for the great conversations & a fun time!
