New fire safety rules are a step backwards for Disabled people. They leave many without real protection. No duty to act. No guarantee of support. Disabled people's lives matter. Read more via @InclusionLondon: bit.ly/4lu3vwf #FireSafety #DisabilityRights
We welcome that the Govt has recognised the damaging effect of the proposed #PIP cuts. But serious cuts to #UC for #Disabled people are still there. Ministers should drop them too. The Govt now has an opportunity to fully re-think its approach and work with Disabled people.
Good to see @munirawilson opposing these cruel welfare cuts. Now we need every Labour MP to vote against them today. This is a critical moment, people's lives are on the line! We won't throw future generations under the bus! #WelfareNotWarfare #TakingThePIP #DisabilityBenefits
I challenged the Government today on their unfair welfare cuts. Instead of supporting disabled people, they're creating a two-tier system of inequality. I shared my constituent Steve's story - I am clear that people living with ME and other disabilities deserve support.

Immensely encouraging to see 100+ Labour MPs table a considered amendment to upcoming cuts to #DisabilityBenefits. If the Speaker selects it to be voted on & it passes, the bill would fall. A significant moment for holding the Government to account. 🔗 buff.ly/lC0dsQh
🚨 Over 100 MPs have backed an amendment to the Universal Credit and PIP Bill. It focuses on the lack of information available to MPs before they vote. And the lack of consultation with disabled people. It calls for the second reading to be declined. news.sky.com/story/labour-m…
£39 billion for “social & affordable homes”, but no mention of accessibility. There’s a real danger Disabled people will be locked out of this housing push entirely. We won’t be sidelined again. Homes must be built with us, not without us. 🔗 bit.ly/3GgeKJ8
It’s #learningdisabilityweek2025 & this year’s theme is ‘Do you see me?’ Let’s make sure ALL people with a learning disability are seen, heard and valued! #learningdisabilityweek2025 #DoYouSeeMe @mencap_charity

Last Thursday, a second motion was passed at City Hall calling for a Disability Equality Champion for London. A dedicated role to represent Disabled people, shape policy, and hold decision-makers accountable. This is urgent. 🧵(1/6)
🚨 BREAKING: nearly half a million people in disabled households will be forced into severe hardship if cuts to social security go ahead. This is cruel and irresponsible. If the UK government doesn’t rethink this, rising poverty and hunger will be its legacy.
Great discussions at last week’s Housing Forum! We explored how the @MayorofLondon's new London Plan could shape housing, especially in Richmond, where 50%+ is protected land. Want to join us next time? 📩 [email protected]
