Consider the Good Samaritan... Look at the options: A Priest (highly placed and honored) A Levite (well bred - the highest of class) A Samaritan (A despised race, lowly in class) Then Jesus asks them... 36 Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man…
Just finished a 30 mile Zwift ride at nearly 7000 feet elevation, jumped onto the computer to record the data, and saw an X post from a guy I have some vague recollection of...Peter Byrum. He was ripping on MacArthur, so I looked at his description, and immediately recognized…
If you are going to play footsie with Romish things, don't be surprised when you get the Romish fungus. 🤔
This is on 🔥
One thing that struck me when I was in my various seminary degree programs was how much seminarians read scholars and theologians and how little, comparatively, they read the Bible. I believe this is one of the root causes of theological rot in the church today.
For readers having trouble understanding, I've been discussing baptism a lot lately since I'm preaching a series on it. One of the most common arguments for paedobaptism is church history/fathers. Hopefully that helps.
I have more insight than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation. I perceive more than the aged, Because I have observed Your precepts. -Psalm 119:99-100 LSB Let the reader understand.
The man in pursuit of traditions will find exactly that... and when he does he will also find that the scriptures are long in the rear view mirror. 🤔
Every paedobaptist needs to read this tweet daily until they realize the Bible >>>> church fathers/early church.
Them: We must trust the early church writers because they were so close to the time of the apostles, some were even students of the apostles. Me: Bro, the Corinthians were literally students of the apostles and they were a mess.

Have you not read what God spoke to you... Hebrew lost? Jesus didn't think so. Instead... Jesus used the Hebrew scriptures to hold the religious leaders accountable.
So, as those watching the DL know, I am on the road, getting toward the end of a relatively short trip that has included teaching Apologetics at the seminary in Conway, and will have me doing a short seminar on the centrality of Scripture to Christian ethics and morality here in…
After my exchange with Tony last night one thing is becoming crystal clear. They have no ability to rebut James critiques of Dr. Allen's work over the years. Dr. Allen's approach up until recently has been to act like it doesn't exist in hopes that it might go away. Well it…
I just received a phone call from a gentleman who was asking if I had heard of the claim that Hebrew was a lost language that God eliminated and replace with the Septuagint. 🤔 Maybe I don't have the whole story but I thought that I would point out Acts 21:40-22:3 40 When he…
We are still doing this? I mean, don't you all get tired of ignoring the corrections that have been offered, and that this representation of "biblicism" is simply inadequate to be considered even semi honest? Just a reminder: aomin.org/aoblog/theolog…
“...biblicism is the rejection of everything not explicitly stated in the Bible, and the concomitant dismissal of all non-biblical witnesses (Fathers, Creeds, Medieval Doctors, councils, etc.).” - D.B. Riker
Ah, yes, solo scriptura. Or, is it anti-creedal? It really is disheartening when men, who ought to know better, persist in misrepresentation, even after correction.

This is the John MacArthur way of saying what Paul said in Galatians 1:10. Would that a double portion of this Spirit be poured out on today's heralds of the Word!
“If the truth offends, then let it offend. People have been living their whole lives in offense to God; let them be offended for a while.” – John MacArthur
