FTR: I’ve never been to a club in my life, and I don’t plan on changing that.
Since the Industrial Revolution, we've been raised to become machines. We can hope that the arrival of AI will make us human again. Not without disruption, though.
Whenever I consider running a pure AD&D campaign, the same things stop me. 1) one minute combat rounds. 2) 6 foot a minute movement rates. 3) abysmal thieves
Personality trait(s)? Ok. In no particular order (they are ALL important...): 1.Loves kids 2.Kind 3.Honest 4.Faithful 5.Patient 6.Nurturing 7.Modest 8.Wise 9.Cheerful 10.Gracious But before any of those are even considered: she must be WHITE, INTELLIGENT, and BEAUTIFUL/HEALTHY.
Hey married people… …what would you say is the MOST IMPORTANT personality trait to look for in a partner?
Why #ReconQuest? #9 One of my life principles: Multa paucis ("Say much with few words"). 🤓
If you're tired of mass-produced media that erases your past and preaches white guilt, if you want a world where myth, struggle, and meaning matter again, this is for you. ReconQuest is mainly for young Europeans who want something deeper than the ordinary hollow entertainment…
The idea of any CR system is, in itself, fundamentally flawed. The world does not adapt to you. Instead, YOU have to adapt to the world.
Is the CR (Challenge Rating) system broken?
Why #ReconQuest? #8 Max attainable level? Does play become boring after your character can no longer level up? Let's find out...
Watching this video, I realise that these people are not even remotely part of my RPG hobby... Tl;dr: WTF is this? youtube.com/watch?v=ikuiLE…
If I was playing ReconQuest and I knew my players were intending to travel to a town and then a nearby dungeon. My prep would be to read up on that area in the setting book, or create NPCs for town, the town, and the dungeon. Whether I do that through creative fiat or random…
Why #ReconQuest? #7 Why is is called that? What is the purpose of the game? Why are the player characters there?
I know nothing about this case in particular, but... generally speaking: 'Steal' whatever you can, and use it. Originality is an illusion, and a cringeworthy type of egocentricism and blind pride. There is nothing "new", only what has been forgotten.
When I post my traps there’s always people accusing me of plagiarising Grimtooth’s. While I’m the first to admit that I might have subconsciously recreated one of G’s designs, not *one* of my accusers has been able to provide a source to the trap I’ve supposedly ”stolen”. #dnd
Strawman. I never said I only roll on tables. I said I don't need to prep for my games, because the game I play has enough substance for me to play it on the fly. The stories, the plots, the reasons for the adventurers to go on adventure are all in the system. 👍
If your "DMing" is just rolling on a table and announcing results you're a natural slave and will be replaced by AI in 5 years or less. Also "improv"? I set up challenges for players to overcome (you know, like a game), you're the one "yes anding" endlessly.
