Very true. Sometimes people say that the maps I draw are wasted on players as they won’t see them. That’s true for the most part, but I don’t draw for players - I draw for dungeon masters. They deserve to be inspired as much as any player.
Maps are for the GMs. They are there to inspire the GM to make a good game. No, they aren't needed, but man do I get more excited to run a game with a nice isometric map like this, than some squares on graph paper.
