Polearms are a staple of classic D&D, mainly due to Gygax’s appreciation of them and the game leaning into the later medieval period. Emulating an early medieval setting = no polearms for your D&D 😱 Of course it’s fantasy so you can justify anything really. #DnD

I labeled my map for our home campaign using OD&D (Swords & Wizardry). I also messed around with zooming into a specific area and it’s certainly useable at the table. Some of the names aren’t very unique, but that’s ok. 😁 #DnD #OSR #ttrpg

The 2 classic editions of D&D that I most often bounce back & forth on as to which to commit to for a truly long-term campaign are OD&D and B/X (via OSE mainly). Both are great. Quite a few similarities, but some very distinct and important differences as well. #DnD

I run OD&D+. It’s the 1974-1976 booklets (I don’t use everything mind you) + articles from Strategic Review & Dragon + Judges Guild supplements + filling the gaps with AD&D, Holmes, and house rules. But the RAW base mechanics are still OD&D 3 LBBs. #DnD #OSR #ttrpg
