Preach!
I do not believe the Hall of Fame should be decided by writers that never played the game! It shouldn’t be a popularity contest it should be determined by their peers!
Let's do a giveaway. If you would like to have this Michael Jordan slab then just like and repost. Winner randomly chosen this weekend. Happy collecting!
Ichiro Suzuki, Hall of Famer.
“Can I throw harder than Joe Wood? Listen mister, no man alive can throw any harder than Smokey Joe Wood.” Walter Johnson
#OTD in 1985, “Smoky Joe” Wood passed away at the age of 95. Though arm fatigue caused an early end to his pitching career, in the early 1910s, there was nobody better than him on the mound. Here’s my painting of him with Boston in 1909, based on the photography of Carl Horner.
#OTD in 1893, Wilber “Bullet” Rogan was born in Oklahoma City, OK. One of the best pitchers in the history of the Negro Leagues, he was equally gifted at bat, ranking 4th in career BA. Here’s my painting of him with the Monarchs in 1924, based on the photography of J.E. Miller.
The fan in me had to get this photo…this weekend had a lot of cool moments I’m still trying to process. But this lefties picture with Sandy and Randy tops them all!!
Happy Carson Whisenhunt Day to those who celebrate 🎉 #SFGiants
